Hmmmmm? Maybe that applies to Russell as well?
01/19/2006 at 2:08 am #1760710I resemble that remark!

I’ve never put out a “Members Only” cache, so I was unaware of the ability to audit the visits to the cache page. Your answer is exactly what I was looking for when I originally asked the question.

People are quick to jump on people that post here when they dont like what they post! People like you are what makes the hobby go down hill. They dont want to post questions for the fear that someone will jump down there throat! With that said I am done with responding to you!Are you kidding? Perhaps you should start reading this thread from the top. You will see that I did ask questions. Marc thought I was playing and responded as such. You on the other hand, thought I was out of place for asking simple questions. You then felt the need to attack me. I replied in the same manner as you and you didn’t like it!
“People are quick to jump on people that post here when they dont like what they post!” Looked in the mirror lately?
You have no right to judge me. You have no right to judge anyone. You don’t know me so stop pretending you do. Don’t think your posts are any better than those of any other member on these forums. Each of us has the same right to be here and to post our thoughts, feelings, questions, ideas…
If you want to get to know me, by all means, e-mail me and we can share some correspondence.
“With that said I am done with responding to you!” ROFLMCLHAO!
Thanks to LostBy7 I got the answer to one of my questions. Marc took care of the other one.
~MB(Anyone wishing to know what “ROFLMCLHAO” means may e-mail me…this is a family site and there is one word I can’t post here.)

01/20/2006 at 10:29 pm #1760713Ok everyone……enough of the lashing out at each other. I agree, if you need to express your frustrations, please do so in a private e-mail.
The initial comment/question was what is the purpose of the thread and THAT was answered and taken care of.
I want to emphesize that chat in a forum or on a messenger system like MSN or Yahoo, often times can come across in a manner of attack or bitter sarchasm. Without being able to “HEAR” or “SEE” a person, it can often times be difficult to tell how the comment is really coming across…please try to remember this.
If a topic comes across which you feel is inappropraite, please contact an Admin with your concern.
Ok….enough of that. Lets enjoy each others conversation
01/21/2006 at 5:49 am #1760714Please lock the thread. It’s gotten painfully tedious.
01/21/2006 at 2:28 pm #1760715You know, this thread is an example of why I rarely look at any of the forumns on geocaching.com… Let’s try to not stoop to that level of continual bashing.
I’ll say “amen” to the Green Bay Paddlers’ notes.

01/21/2006 at 4:37 pm #1760716Maybe this is just what we need! Maybe it’s time to allow people to express their thoughts without having someone tell them their opinion doesn’t matter.
There’s nothing wrong with a little “heated” discussion every once in a while.
As has been pointed out so many times on WGA threads, people can either read, or not…it’s their choice. They also have the power/right to reply.
Step off the soap box, get your head out of the clouds, wake up and smell the coffee…whatever cute little saying you choose…just open your eyes to a world that is REAL!

I have to disagree with you MB. I believe, and I may be wrong, that these forums are for positive, fun discussions to clear the air about something such as processes, ask questions, excetera.
Yes people should be able to express their opinions, but when it gets to the point of lashing out at other people and is personal it shouldn’t be done here. Try a different forum: an example would be a chat room in yahoo.
The world is real, yes; however, people like to escape once in a while. Unfortunatly, fun and intersting people “leave” these forums because of negative, hostile discussions. Do we really want to be known for that? If you (meant as general) disagree with someone its great to voice your opinion. Primarily the people in the forums are adults (whether we chose to act that way or not). I believe adults should be able to “agree to disagree.” I wish, though, that when we disagree that we can apply critical thinking to our opinion/side and communicate that to one another. Who knows, if we communicate well enough perhaps you (again general) would persuade others to agree with your point of view.
A lot of discussion is based on interpretations. I may read a post and take it totally different than the way it was intended. I try to post here objectivly. Yes, sometimes I lapse in judgement but still that is my primary goal. In general we should all realize that these forums lack facial communication – you know verbal and non-verbal communication. It is based on our interpretations.
Okay – I gues I’m done rambling.
In closing I would like everyone (including me) to think about how someone reading what we wrote will react. AND, if we do read something and we are upset by it, take it off-line, meaning, howabout emailing the person direct and asking them if we took it wrong before posting on these threads?! That would help these forums stay positive.
01/22/2006 at 12:02 am #1760718Do any of the above posters object to locking this thread?
It seems to have run it’s course.

Go for it!! Enough said!
01/22/2006 at 3:53 am #1760721Yes, I object to this thread being locked!!! Having way too much fun reading it.
01/22/2006 at 12:16 pm #1760722Maybe we need a section just for “Things that erk you” THEN people who wish to vent can go there and do so. That way it won’t cause grief in other sections.
Back to the subject of this Topic…. still learned something from it and am interested in setting up a “members only” to see what all happens when people come visit. I assume it’s only something for the own of that cache to view.
As much as I HATED my statistic class (all 3 times I took it)I do enjoy the basics of the subject.
Any way to find out how many Premier Members there are compared to regular??

I just opened one yesterday and as it turns out it was a good thing. I had transposed two numbers in the puzzle and was able to contact each person who visited the cache page even before anyone set out to find it (Save for one group who went in the dead of night).
