Ok, after almost 40 finds and 5 hides, im going to introduce myself.
My names Jerry, and Im from Fond du Lac I have lived in Fondy for 16 years now, and know the area quite well.
I got into geocaching last november when a forum member on Sport Touring (motorcycling forum) put a post about he geocached on trips utilizing his cycle. I heard about geocaching a few years ago, but never pursued it. Wasnt until then that I did. I found my first one in Taylor Park, without a GPS, since it was bigger, it was easy to find without. I then went on Craigslist and bought a Magellen Explorist 200 for $60 (Its great, except I cannot download coords on it, I have to manually enter each one)
Im really enjoing it. It just another hobby to add to the long list of mine!!! ๐
I have found making and hiding caches (especially really creative ones), to be a freaking blast. It great to see other people enjoying them.
I recognize many peoples user names on the forums, like The PharmGirl, JimmandLinda, tinguy, Bulldogshouse (I always see there stickers on logs), and many others. I hope to meet some of you someday! I was possibly going to go to the Geo Campout in Appleton.
Seeyah around, and keep on Cachin’ !!!
Oh, and check out my latest cache if you in the FDL area, Piney Hollow. Its in Buttermilk Creek park, which I plan to plant more in!!

05/08/2009 at 7:03 pm #1907508Welcome Jerry…I just purchased a motorcycle and have started doing a bit of caching on it as well. Those two things go quite well together I’ve found.
I’ve from the SE part of the state (Racine) but am slowly working my way up that way.
You should also look into the West Bend Cache Ba$h GC1KZHZ
It looks like that event might achieve MEGA status soon.
Hope to see ya on the trails someday ๐05/08/2009 at 8:16 pm #1907509Welcome to the cult. What perfect timing, there’s a full moon tonight.
05/08/2009 at 8:33 pm #1907510Glad you joined. You can learn some great things and meet new people here. We have enjoyed caching in your area. We will be at the campout and hope to get to meet you.
TE05/08/2009 at 9:47 pm #1907511Welcome! Thanks for introducing yourself. I’ll have to make a trip to Fond du Lac soon to try to find those new caches of yours. Perhaps we’ll see you at the Campout (or the West Bend Cache Ba$h?! GC1KZHZ). Hope you’re enjoying caching so far. ๐
05/08/2009 at 11:45 pm #1907512Welcome Jerry! It’s nice to see a new person willing to venture into hides. I am waiting to get my numbers up a little first. Continue to have fun, read the forums, and go to events. I do recommend the West Bend Cache Ba$h–it was my first caching event, and very-beginner friendly. And not too far from Fond du Lac.
