Me neither. Seeing as I don’t have many days left may, just maybe if it is as yucky as they say it is supposed to be I may just have to call in.
02/06/2019 at 9:42 pm #2062240Any schools closed for tomorrow?
Lots of them around here: Stevens Point, WI Rapids, Wausau …

02/07/2019 at 6:37 am #2062245FTP for the 7th.
Looks like Wisconsin is closed today! The boss called at 6:30 to give me the day off. That makes 4 days off this pay period!
Oh, well…
02/07/2019 at 7:03 am #2062246We got a dusting of snow overnight. School is closed due to impending weather.

02/07/2019 at 7:03 am #2062247Maybe we should all shut down for Chinese New Years and open back up on the 12th.
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

02/07/2019 at 8:47 am #2062250Hey, Birdin’…we went to the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge today…lots of birds winter in the area including the whooping cranes. We saw a couple at a distance…also saw a reddish egret that we’d never seen before.
Way cool. I took part years ago in a program at Necedah to view the flight training of the chicks there and got a pretty awesome shot of a pair of Whoopers later when they took us on a tour into closed parts of the refuge.
We are finalizing reservations today for a “once in a lifetime” trip by special conveyance down to NOLA in the fall. I started looking for areas along our way home where we might see some birds I wouldn’t see here. Apparently in the town where Tabasco Sauce is made, there is also a bird sanctuary. So….we might take the long road home.
02/07/2019 at 12:27 pm #2062254Hard rain and graupel here!
02/07/2019 at 12:31 pm #2062255Curious as what is a “special conveyance” is, also.
02/07/2019 at 1:05 pm #2062256All I have to do is look outside and see if the lady across the street is home or not, and that’s how I know school is cancelled or not. That’s because she’s a teacher, and her car is still in the driveway as I post this.
The buck stops here. . .and gets entered into Where's George.
Where's George? Stimulating the economy one EMS'ed dollar at a time.
02/07/2019 at 2:20 pm #2062257I was out playing in the craphas a bit, doing a little shoveling, messing with the bird feeders, etc. I noticed the mail person go by so I walked down to the mailbox and retrieved my letter. You know how to tell if a letter is junk mail ? If the envelope says ” To Be Opened By The Addressee Only” it goes directly into the paper recycling bin. 🙂
02/07/2019 at 2:42 pm #2062258Phase one of operation snow plow has been completed: Plowed the driveway, pushing back the banks that were left along the sides of the driveway to make room to pile more craphas. Also dug out the WGA Hauler in preparation for taking it in to get new tires.

02/07/2019 at 4:11 pm #2062261Trekkin’ left for his 9AM appointment to get new tires this morning, snowstorm and all. Well, when he still hadn’t been called to the counter at noon…..they forgot! Needless to say, he got quite a nice discount for having to sit around the Subaru dealership for the entire day. All this snowy weather gave him a good feel for what it’s like to have new tires, too.
We do the same thing with mail like that, jar. Today I got a big envelope from our congressman. Inside was a copy of the photo taken right before Thanksgiving when I met with him as a representaive of Audubon. Autographed. For real. Personalized and everything.
My tax dollars at work.
02/07/2019 at 7:14 pm #2062264HH, I did that too this morning, they are both teachers. Anyone else use the USPS Informed Delivery? Email shows scanned mail so you know what’s coming.
02/07/2019 at 7:36 pm #2062265I use Informed Delivery but it can also trip you up when you get something that isn’t scanned like a magazine that could sit in the mailbox for a couple days.
