:ftp: for page 1034 AND Monday!

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

03/25/2019 at 8:41 am #2062877I had to delete a log from my event last Thursday, this cacher claimed to be there but never saw us. When I messaged the cacher in question, he had a few choice words for me. Considering his personality, I’m not surprised by that reaction. I’ll see what happens on Thursday at my Pocket Queries event.

03/25/2019 at 9:10 pm #2062880Why would you log an attend for an event that you did not show up for? Especially an event with a low number of attendees. Heck, there are a lot of times that we forget to post an attended log for events that we go to until days and sometimes weeks later. It makes me wonder if we ever attended an event we didn’t get credit for before it was archived…
03/25/2019 at 9:27 pm #2062881I realize that a log sheet is no longer required at Event caches, but it helps me as an Event host to know who has logged and who hasn’t, so I can Archive the Event. It also keeps most cachers honest! Not all cachers; just most cachers.

for the 26th! I like having event log sheets.I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

03/26/2019 at 1:36 pm #2062884I can understand if it was an out of towner who I hadn’t had the chance to chat with, but this was a well known local who I’ve actually cached with. The log in question mentioned “no known cachers” being there, but there were quite a few cachers there that he knows, including one of his old co-workers. I know there are a couple of legit attendees who still need to log, but I decided to archive just to ensure that the false logger won’t relog.

03/27/2019 at 6:22 am #2062899I don’t think archiving an event prevents people from logging. I’ve seen people log an attended a year after an event.

You are correct BigJim. Anyone can log an archived cache or event.

You’re right, and I look forward to seeing the logs of the remaining legit attendees roll in. With the event archived, I doubt the cacher in question is smart enough to look for it under my profile as event host. . .but we shall see.

03/28/2019 at 6:35 am #2062909Rivers and creeks around here are at flood stage, but most of the snow is melted. About all that is left is the piles in parking lots and along driveways.
