So jealousĀ . . . .
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

05/23/2019 at 2:18 pm #2063383If the āHome Inspectorā has a webpage or FB page, Iād leave a really bad review.
We’re not on FB so we can’t leave a review that way. There’s an electrician at the house right now. I’m getting a brutal blow by blow through texts from my wife about what he’s finding wrong. As long as he doesn’t say “not safe to inhabit” we’re good because I spent almost an hour talking my wife off the cliff yesterday after work. She’s ready to pull the plug on Wisconsin and head back to Oregon. There’s an opening at my old school and she wants me to apply. I’m not that enthusiastic about leaving here.

05/24/2019 at 5:20 pm #2063386I saw my first two ticks of the season today. The first was on my garage door this morning, I don’t know what happened to him, the second was on the inside of my car windshield this afternoon, he didn’t survive.

Visiting camping friends in The Thumb today!
05/26/2019 at 12:57 pm #2063390I’m up at the camper right now.Ā If anyone is familiar with a certain blue ox in Lakewood, that’s where my mom has been for almost 50 years.

05/26/2019 at 7:21 pm #2063391I think I’m up to about 10 ticks, some tiny, that I’ve pulled off me. None had dug in, so that’s good. They must be immune to tick repellent.
We’ve been hiking. And hiking. And today we combined hiking and fat biking in the Kickapoo Reserve. There is no such thing as a flat trail in these parts and I’m feeling it. Today’s mileage was between 9-10 miles.
I should slim down a bit, even if it means dispatching multiple ticks.
05/27/2019 at 7:20 am #2063392FTP for Memorial Day! Enjoy the day.
05/27/2019 at 9:21 am #2063393Spent much of Saturday and Sunday driving. We took my mom to Des Moines to visit my sister, who has stage 4 lung cancer. Spent more time on the road than with my sister, but she gets tired quickly and needs to rest.

05/27/2019 at 2:14 pm #2063394It was a rainy day Monday in Lakewood, and I ended up coming back to Green Bay.Ā On the way into town, I stopped off at Fort Howard Cemetery to visit my dearly departed grandparents.
