06/10/2019 at 6:33 am #2063515FTP for Monday. First day of summer school.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
06/10/2019 at 2:52 pm #2063516Quiet in here today. Everyone must be enjoying summer!
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

06/10/2019 at 4:19 pm #2063517I saw rawevil’s message on the homepage asking for comments about TFTC…but I don’t see how to post comments. So I will put my comments here. Yes, I read every log posted, and sometimes reply to the finder. I only have one active cache. It is a puzzle. And it is part of a series. If TFTC was the only thing a person put in the log, I would be disappointed, but some people don’t think a log requires anything more, or even that. Because cachers are often doing the whole series, I frequently get the same cut-and-paste log that every other cache in the series gets. That doesn’t bother me, but it would be nice if the cacher said even just a little something about each specific cache. I don’t have a fancy GPSr or phone, but don’t many of them have a notes section that you can jot a little something down, and then you can edit it, or just write the log later? Thinking back to the cachers who taught me the most about the hobby in the early days, writing a good log was something that many mentioned. It doesn’t have to be long. Appreciate something about the hide, the container, the theme… Say something about the people you are with, the weather, LEO encounter, bugs… and yes, THANK the hider. TFTC or thank you works. You could even thank the cache owner if you have a DNF. You still got to give a look. You can still come back again. Those are my thoughts.
06/10/2019 at 4:40 pm #2063518I have an urban mini power trail on a trail I used to walk when I was in school. I’ve had several cachers mention how they enjoyed walking the trail, and I intend to keep these caches alive as long as I can.

My rawevil plan was to get people to the website and post something in a forum but since posting to the site also posts to the book of faces, there are a couple of comments there. One which I don’t understand . . .
I’m hoping to heighten the awareness of something other than TFTC on logs. This Thursday thought is going to be, forgot my pen, couldn’t sign log . . .

Maybe contact the person who posted directly? My guess is perhaps they were being facetious, like, the forgot pen logs are equally undesired.
06/12/2019 at 6:42 am #2063523FTP on a rainy Wednesday morning. Today’s lesson plan focuses on shelter and fire building. Might be a plan B day.

06/12/2019 at 7:08 am #2063524It’s going to be a good day to cook on the Blackstone in the garage in this rainy weather. Thinking about a cherry pork tenderloin, bacon wrapped asparagus, mushrooms and onions in a flavored oil . . .
