07/04/2019 at 10:05 am #2063657No fireworks for us, we’re staying home to help our dog get through them.
We’re also hoping to finally take part in the annual drive on Old 131 in the Kickapoo Reserve, but last night’s flooding may modify the route. So…we wait to see before leaving here. Old 131 is now a paved trail through the Reserve, but it follows the route of Highway 131 before it was rerouted. We’ve biked and walked the trail many, many times, but this is the one time in the year folks can drive on it…from noon to 4. Keeping our fingers crossed that we can still do it.
In the meantime, we’ll start cutting up our wood scraps to build the Little Free Library.
Well bummer, just checked….the ride is cancelled.
07/04/2019 at 3:29 pm #2063658Lunch cookout done at my Dad’s; now it’s time for cookout #2.
07/04/2019 at 10:55 pm #2063659Let me set the scene. I arrive with my mom to watch the fireworks, then two of my high school classmates show up together. Now there are no less than four graduates of Green Bay East in the area. Where are we? If you said Townsend, you were right. The rain held off until the fireworks ended, now we have mother nature’s fireworks.

Another warm one today.
07/05/2019 at 2:06 pm #2063661Warm ?
I spent the summer of ’64’ at Ft. Leonard Wood, the wet bulb was so high that the base commander forbid giving GI hair cuts. The old timers spent the summer grumbling about us long-haired recruits. The old wood barracks didn’t have A/C but I think summer was probably better in them than winter.
07/05/2019 at 10:16 pm #2063662Are we complaining about the warm weather? Polar vortex.
