01/30/2015 at 9:37 pm #2034764Or not. I just spent like forever checking to see if we qualify for a King Boreas challenge not far from my parents. We do. But in the process, I discovered something neat about wikipedia.
Search for the name of any town or city. When you get to the page on wikipedia with that entry, click on the coordinates that are near the upper right hand corner of the entry. You will find many wondrous things. Scroll down that list of wondrous things. You will find one thing called “Geocaching.com” and can click on “nearby.” You get a list of…nearby geocaches!
Who knew?

Do you want a copy? Just kidding. I saw that. Seriously? I work hard and bang my head a lot trying to solve puzzles. Very disappointing….
The views expressed here are that of myself only and do not necessarily represent that of the WGA board.

01/30/2015 at 9:59 pm #2034769I won’t be looking, I prefer to solve them myself. More satisfying that way.

01/30/2015 at 10:26 pm #2034771New puzzles, I wish I would have seen that earlier. I ended up watching Pitch Perfect with the ladies.
01/30/2015 at 10:35 pm #2034772I agree, Becca. I just don’t really understand wanting those smileys without working the puzzle. Honestly, I think all these stat sites have created some of this kind of stuff. Before, no one really knew who had how much and more and less and all that.
01/30/2015 at 10:35 pm #2034773I think I’m going to head SW tomorrow.

Me 🙂 I saw it when I was working on creating a yet-to-be-submitted challenge cache. Very handy!
I could be in the Dells…Wednesday night. Maybe. Thursday for sure.

Land is owned by USFS. A guy I work with owns a sliver of the eastern edge of the lava flow. He tipped me off to the Forest Service. Couldn’t track down which office was responsible so I used the countywide webpage to submit a request. They came back with “no permission needed” so I resubmitted with a “thank you” to them at the end (above the WGA banner) and a note to the reviewer saying USFS says it is ok. No word back yet.
I also tried to get an EC for here in town, but it was judged to be a good hydro- lesson and not enough geo- in it.
I have 9 preps in 6 class periods this semester. Not sure when I will find time to rewrite that one, but I found some good source material to pull info from. Sure isn’t much written about the nonvolcanic land around here! The best sig is no sig.

We have an outside chance of hitting 60 any day in the next 10. Sure aren’t any geotrails to follow!
