It’s a cold one this weekend.  Even so, I was still able to get out to play Pokemon Go for a little bit and capture a few Munzees.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get the souvenir for today since I have found all the Earth Caches within striking dinstance of home.

That at FTP on page 1,097!

Debby, What the heck did you do???? Yes, time to solve puzzles. The weather’s nasty anyway.

So, I was attempting a 5/5, and I was pumped.  My climbing gear was secure (or so I thought).  I lowered myself over the edge of the cliff and…

If only it were that exciting.

I literally woke up one day last year with plantar fasciitis.  After more than a year of rest, medicine, inserts, orthotics, physical therapy, cortisone shots, and different types of shoes, surgery was recommended.

There is a dramatic story there, however.  Just after checking in for the procedure, lightning struck the power boxes on the roof of the hospital, starting a fire, and causing power to go out.  After firefighters put out the fire, power company personnel got the power back on.  Good thing, as they don’t do nonemergency surgery on generator power.  It was a four hour delay, but I am grateful they were able to do it.  People scheduled later in the day were forced to reschedule.

And yes, nasty weather–craphas here now.

There’s an EC in Decorah and we were thinking of doing that tomorrow, but Trekkin’s bum knee is bothering him, so it’s likely to be another souvenir we just ignore.  That happens more and more these days for us!

Celebrating grandson #2’s 7th birthday today…been snowing in Hammond all day. What a difference a day or two makes.

Geeze, Deb! You could write a soap opera scene or two 😉

Fortunately no craphas here in Green Bay yet.  They’re predicting flakes with a low of 33.

We have “wintry mix” with brisk winds on tap here.  Not going EarthCaching.  That is one souvenir we like to try and earn, because we have an affinity for that cache type, but today’s weather is not my idea of outdoors fun, no matter how properly we’re dressed.

We wear glasses.  That’s my reasoning!

As I type this post, there’s a wintery mix of sleet coming down.  I think I’ll stay home the rest of the day.

It was raining pretty steadily an hour ago.  Then the sun came out.  Now it is a very heavy downpour of slightly larger than pea-size hail.  That’s Wisconsin weather for you.

FTP for October 14th. Everyone have their heat on?

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Got in on the MewTwo raid, but didn’t get the capture. I stopped looking for Munzees because there are so few in the area I live, but I get an email every once in a while.

I was lucky and still have one EC that didn’t involve hiking the IAT to find. Next year will be a bit more challenging, especially if the weather is like this weekend!

I was looking at stats for my bug hotel, and was shocked to see I have had almost 500 pass through the gates of the university. Then I saw that most of them belonged to this guy. That’s a ton of TBs to have. Guess he dipped a few hundred when he stopped by here the other day.

FTP for October 15th! Big day for me today after work. Excited and nervous all at the same time.

Wish the Pack would just decide to blow people out on these non-Sunday games. Staying up until the end of the game makes me tired and cranky at school. On the plus side, losing our family’s season tickets also meant I didn’t go to the game, and I’d be much more tired than I am now.
