And the FTP as well.  It should be a good week!

As the owners of 125 caches, we currently have 117 that are active.  We don’t like to place park and grabs either.  We like to maintain our caches, but it’s getting more challenging to do so when they’re scattered over five counties and most require a walk in green spaces.  Lately we’ve encountered wet logs in a bunch of them, and almost all of our caches are waterproof!  I don’t mean mostly waterproof, but submerge-it-in-water completely waterproof.  It’s frustrating when cachers don’t completely close the container.  This concludes our rant of the day and we now turn the thread back to useless drivel.

Well might as well get in as well. Also the Walgreens we stopped at was out of flu shots, they are hoping to have some available come the first of November. I guess when they say there is a shortage there is.

I called my doctor’s office and they told me just stop by. Took me longer to drive to Winneconne than to get the shot.

You go all the way to the Sovereign State of Winneconne to see a doctor?  I thought you lived in Oshkosh.  Anywho, it probably took you longer to call the doctor than it did for me to walk to mine.  Yes, I said walk, I live a mere three blocks away.

The buck stops here. . .and gets entered into Where's George.

Yeah, it’s not anything like it used to be in here. Sigh. I took advantage of a sale to order the little metal plate to register our Little Free Library. Now I just have to build the darn thing. 😀

Ooooh, build in a secret cache compartment.

All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.

Auburndale girls won their first-round volleyball match in three straight games.  Next match is Thursday. I got to be “Event Supervisor” last night, and will again tomorrow. Then I get to supervise the first-round football playoff game on Friday. I get $40 for each event, so the next check will have a little extra in it.

I do go to Winneconne. It’s not that far, especially from my work which essentially is in Butte Des Morts.

Planning on it. I’m not sure how we’ll do it, but I’ve had experience with a lot of neat ones.  I guess a lot will depend on how exactly I build it…when I do.  At this point, it might not be out there till spring.

In other news, we’re playing Catan with Poohs Pal and his parents one more time tonight before they move west.  I need a “happy/sad” emoji here.

I’m surprised there aren’t more like that.

            Congrats on the W!

Adams was down 0-54 in football after the first quarter to G-E-T. That’s when I stopped paying attention.

Girls lost three but looked good up in Eagle River last night.

Soccer lost 0-9 but they didn’t lose by 10 and end early.

With those seasons ending, my supervisions and extra pay are done until Spring, unless I get pressed into duty for something. I think the new AD is starting to realize I can work any position at any event after my trial under fire in Oregon and will start giving me more work. I’d welcome it more if I still lived close to town, but the extra pay isn’t bad.

Had an interesting experience yesterday…was out bow hunting in the afternoon. I’d borrowed a one-dimensional buck decoy from a friend to put in front of my blind on the edge of a soybean field. Just as the sun had set a small forkhorn buck appeared on the edge of the field and began feeding. It didn’t see the decoy because the decoy was facing him. But as he wandered out farther, he saw its profile and stopped…and looked…and looked…and looked. Then slowly and hesitatingly, he moved closer to the decoy until he reached out and touched it with his forehead. Startled, he jumped back and looked…and looked some more. I wished I’d had taken a video of it with my cell. The buck was completely oblivious to anything going on around it…if it wasn’t so late, I’d be enjoying some fresh venison today. After finally losing interest but wondering what that strange flat creature was, it wandered off. Ha…loved it 🙂
I didn’t get out this afternoon…went to watch the Oconto girls play. They’re a #1 seed and were awesome…the match lasted less than an hour. They could go a ways in the tournament. 🙂

That would have been a great video. You did a good job of explaining however.
