:ftp: for page 1131!
12/02/2019 at 7:17 am #2064981The list of school closures is HUGE. Most NW Wisconsin schools closed and University/Colleges, day cares, etc. Our city alleys will be opened today. I was lucky, as a city front end loader operator came by and opened up my driveway entrance. Why? because I am the only house/driveway mid-block and I live on a corner lot. So the plow turns the corner with the street snow and stops just before my driveway. With the mountains of snow, they pushed the entrance clear, but stopped just before the alley. So unfortunately drivers in the alley will have their vision blocked when looking up the street to their left. Oh the joys of a BIG Storm! After a fortifying breakfast I’m going out to snowblow my driveway and maybe help the neighbors if I am physically able.

Count me as thankful we don’t have that. .yet.
The buck stops here. . .and gets entered into Where's George.

12/02/2019 at 10:56 am #2064983We had a dusting. WOW looking at snow totals, it wont be long before the snowmobile trails are open.

I’m sure those neighbors will be forever grateful. That storm was crazy, even for up there. Has everyone seen that the sea stack at Tettegouche State Park on MN’s North Shore got knocked down sometime between Saturday evening and Sunday am?
12/02/2019 at 3:15 pm #2064985We had some snow, but I think because we had freezing rain prior to it, that after the plows went through, it was more of slippery roads due to ice. (This is main roads. I am fortunate not to have to travel back roads in my daily routine.) But I am sure even the hardiest northerners struggle with the amount of snow sometimes. It is nice for those who enjoy winter activities to have the snow when it is the season for it.

12/03/2019 at 5:40 am #206498712/3/19 FTP one inch of snow fell last night. Another day of snow removal awaits! Now to the porch and front sidewalk. The neighbors have all returned from Thanksgiving to spend many hours last night behind the shovel. Washburn and other area schools remain closed.

12/03/2019 at 8:06 am #2064989We still have some amount of snow on the ground, nothing like in the great white north though.

EEEK!!!
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

12/04/2019 at 5:13 am #2064998FTP 12/4/19 Still Moving Snow! Did not get to the front porch sidewalk to the street – that’s on the list for today. The alley nearby is still not plowed open, but maybe today? Graders are still out widen roads and knocking down snowbanks. At least the weather is mild to be out and about.
I am wondering if the new challenge caches, hung in the trees have survived the blizzard? No new posts so far. Probably waiting until the snowmobiles/groomer can get through to pack the snow along the Tri-County Corridor.

12/04/2019 at 7:15 am #2064999As long as I’m up and about…
