:ftp: for page 1140. Wow, two happenstance FTPs in one day!
12/16/2019 at 8:25 pm #2065151I was trying to keep up the fun but I also knew I had a poll out there I wanted feedback for the board 🙂
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

12/17/2019 at 9:44 am #2065163Sigh. The chili feed….in a craft brewery, not far from home.
Except we aren’t home that month, but about 900 miles downriver.
Sigh.

That’s a bummer!

12/17/2019 at 12:24 pm #2065169I guess the fact that we’ll be exploring things like the Natchez Trace. St. Catherines NWR and maybe getting a couple of state’s oldest might make up for things. I can make chili at our apartment when we get home and they do have breweries down there. 😉

That sounds much better than chili!

12/18/2019 at 7:07 am #2065176Woke up at 3:30 and couldn’t fall back asleep. Decided to shower at 5 because, why not. Got to work at 7 and the guy next to me is here too, nobody else in the entire building. So much for making copies.

12/18/2019 at 4:28 pm #2065177I don’t often make a “proud mom” post anywhere, but this one made us especially proud. Our long-haired hippie son (as viewed by many in this small town conservative community) lost a long-time (like since 6th grade) good friend unexpectedly last week. He was only 30 and had an apparent heart attack. Those of us who were connected to him are still kind of in shock, but Taylor is also a small business owner. He is creating a memorial patch, with all sales going to Dan’s family. Not profits….sales. Dan was the center for the football team that won state their senior year, so already many of his old teammates have placed their orders.
He’s a good kid, man-bun, baggy sweats and all. (This is Pooh’s Pal’s dad, btw).

Must have been raised right.

12/19/2019 at 7:17 am #2065179Frosting cut-out cookies today, but I’m not taking orders! Cookies are on target for Christmas presents and I best get going. Up early to get this done before the Badger Women’s Volleyball Match tonight at 7pm on ESPN. Then Minnesota plays at 9:30 pm Hoping for a Big Ten Rematch!! That would be awesome.

12/19/2019 at 8:16 am #2065180Another night with not much sleep. This time: nightmares. I kept going back into the same one after I was jarred awake and then fell back asleep. I was a teacher, but not in any classroom I taught in before; I was in my 2nd grade classroom in an L shaped building. Active shooter situation. The room is two rooms from the outside door. The alarm goes out, I put my hands in my pockets to lock my door after checking the hall for kids, and I don’t have them. Then I wake up.
No idea what is triggering this.
At least I have an “easy” day today: ASPIRE testing to start and end the day, a work day for AP Stats and then a test for my honors kids.

Really? With what’s been happening of late? I was involved in a couple of active shooter drills….just drills…shortly before retiring and not only were the kids anxious during the drill, I was too.
