I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

The best sig is no sig.
02/13/2020 at 4:25 pm #2065860We went to the Delta Blues Museum in Ferriday LA today. Jerry Lee Lewis is from there, and he played his first night club gig just down the hill from where we’re staying. This was a bit of info we didn’t know….Rev. Jimmy Swaggart and Mickey Gilley are his first cousins, and of course, also musical folks. They’re 6 months apart in age and grew up together. So….Jerry Lee Lewis and Jimmy Swaggart….could not have been more opposite.
02/13/2020 at 8:20 pm #2065864I recall about 20 years ago Jerry Lee Lewis had a conversion experience and wanted to appear on Jimmy Swaggart’s TV show. I don’t think it ever happened though.
02/14/2020 at 4:05 am #2065870FTP for Valentine’s Day. The first concert I ever attended was Jerry Lee Lewis at Summerfest.

We haven’t had a late start in at least 15 years. We’re controlled by the bus company. Too many drivers have jobs that they go to after their morning route, so they can’t drive if there is a delay. Somehow, though, they have been able to get enough drivers for an early dismissal on a few occasions.

02/15/2020 at 9:27 am #2065883Good morning! We haven’t done a whole lot of caching since we’ve been here….more like, “What do we want to do today? Oh, there’s a cache along the way!” kind of thin, which is pretty much how we operate these days no matter where we are. Today we’re heading with our dog to the nearby state park, which has a bunch of caches. Most have been found in the last 30 days, but these are folks who know their snakes here and other stuff. I think we might proceed a bit more cautiously. We have our vipers back home in the Driftless, but they’re *our* vipers and we know how they act. Wish us luck! I’m actually more interested in finding a Brown Headed Nuthatch or Mississippi Kite than any caches, LOL
02/15/2020 at 5:37 pm #2065885We spent the afternoon at the Padre Island Nat’l Seashore…kite day! There were a couple of huge ones they couldn’t get up in the air cuz there wasn’t enough wind…still was a cool spectacle to see 🙂
