Got our census questionnaire in the mail yesterday. Filled it out before I logged on here. For my family of four, it took less than 5 minutes. Interesting that there wasn’t a paper questionnaire to fill out, they give you a website and code to access the form online. Yesterday was my last day of census job training. If you don’t do the online form, someone will be paying you a visit in mid-April to get you a paper one to fill out. For now, we are going around and dropping off forms at places that either don’t have mailing addresses (PO box, I think) and other places. We went to the area around the golf course west of Green Lake yesterday. Lots of vacation homes & trailers, no people, naturally. So many families will be showing up to their cottage “up north” and finding forms hanging on them long after they filled out the one at their main home. We found out as we were leaving that we’re not supposed to approach people now, just hang stuff on doors and then leave. Reminds me of all the campaigning I did 10+ years ago! Worst thing about yesterday, besides hanging forms where we know nobody lives, was having to drive past all the caches around the golf course. I’m looking forward to my vacation from work starting on Thursday. That gives me plenty of opportunity to get 40 hours of Census work done each week! Plus work around the farmstead. Maybe some caching too.
What are your district’s expectations during the shut-down? We are expected to provide distance learning for our students. That’s about all we’ve been told so far. I don’t know exactly what that means. We have a work day on Monday, so hopefully by the end of the day we will have a solid plan.

03/15/2020 at 7:51 am #2066110Beware the Ides of March.
I think I’ll hide in the basement today. 🙂
03/15/2020 at 8:20 am #2066111One historical significance of the Ides of March relates to the settling of debts. I wonder, then, why the traditional IRS tax deadline is April 15th, not March 15th. Or even the Ides of April, which is the 13th. Just doing my part to ponder useless drivel to support this thread.
03/15/2020 at 7:12 pm #2066112I know I haven’t been here for a while, but have been checking in to see the drivel. It’s been pretty slow. I’ll try to add.
The Ides of March, February, January, have been good to me. Over 500 miles of biking in this year, but sad to say, not much caching. Just trying to stay in shape. Also rescued(adopted) two kittens, so trying to adjust to that.
But what is with the”Hoarding of the toilet paper”. Really people???? Did we really loose all common sense?
Sorry, Just venting.
Thanks for listening.
Please add if you want to. Cause that’s what this thread is all about.
Check back later, signing out

03/15/2020 at 8:01 pm #2066113As I understand it, the hording of toilet paper may be related to the diarrhea it apparently causes.
On a brighter note, I had a Corona with my dinner several nights ago and I feel fine…except for my allergies. Cough, cough 🙂Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
03/16/2020 at 7:17 am #2066114FTP for 03-16-2020 . . .
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

03/16/2020 at 7:53 am #2066115Diarrhea didn’t seem to be on the list of symptoms for COVID-19.
Respiratory problems-YES.
Plumbing and sewage disposal-NO.
The hoarding of TP is a psychological issue of feeling prepared for a crisis.
If you need some TP, I’ve got a roll or 2 at $20 each!
Stop by! Bring all your friends!!
Better yet…STAY HOME!!
03/16/2020 at 8:46 am #2066116I heard that a comedian said that the recent demand for TP is being driven by the fact that whenever someone coughs, ten people s— their pants.
03/16/2020 at 9:07 pm #2066122Got my “See ya April 1st” call from work today.
Oh, well…
03/17/2020 at 6:58 am #2066123FTP on ST PATRICK’S DAY! Going out caching in Duluth today before the next weather system comes in. Will plan to be walking or snowshoeing along some trails.
I’d Rather Be Lost Geocaching, Than Found At Home!
03/17/2020 at 7:55 am #2066124Happy St. Pats!
03/17/2020 at 2:01 pm #2066125I am set up to work from home if need be. However, I hope the need does not arise. The owner of our company has a good plan. We cannot be down for two weeks with what we do.
