Over a month ago I misplaced the remote for the TV in the back family room, where I spend most of my time and allow my wife and kids to watch their shows (Acorn TV and anime). Not sure I miss it, although when the new Mandalorian comes out I’ll need to find it.

Found my first Adventure Lab this morning in LaCrosse. Tried to do the Herons one, but I guess I didn’t understand how they worked, so I gave up after not getting the first one to “work” (as I incorrectly thought they worked) and moved on to the one along the river. As I circled Hiawatha, I saw the “answer question” icon that I couldn’t see in the sun by the pump house. Oops. I really wanted to find the puzzle cache at the end of the Herons. Guess I need to see the doctor again sometime soon.

FTP for TUESDAY I got it right this time! Ha! I published by first Adventure Lab Sunday. It pays to have all information written up ahead of time. After finding a lab in Bemidji I used their idea to include the bonus using words through the Certitude solution for the bonus cache. Tested and worked. I met the FTF cachers and we went for ice cream afterwards for cache talk. Fun day!

Sorry about the confusion with our AL.Β  We’ve struggled with understanding how they work, but after having done a few now, we get it.Β  It’s not the most intuitive program, but it’s improved some since they first started appearing.Β  Ours does require them to be completed in order, which will make sense when you do it, if you give it another try.Β  The Hiawatha statue is being removed sometime soon, so it’s good you got that one now.Β  We also know that another area cacher is working on an AL, so maybe you’ll have a couple on your next trip here!

Anyone notice that the number of caches in Wisconsin has been going down? Archives are outnumbering new caches. Last time I looked there was just under 28,982. Today there is 28,611

And after another round of archives, there are now 28,588 caches in the state.

I thought they worked like Whereigo – that I needed to be a certain distance from the dot to get the checkmark and be allowed to go to the next spot. It was especially frustrating because the closer I was to the building, the farther the GPS put me into the parking lot. I actually got to within 3′ once, but never to the 0′ I thought I needed. The problem was with me, not with the AL.

I was wondering about the statue at the other one!

Maybe WisKid should take a Covid moratorium and stop archiving, then we would have more caches on the list? Ha!

No, no, don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining about WisKid archiving. Those caches need to be gone, the rest of us just aren’t hiding new caches at a sufficient rate to keep up.

Meh. A couple of waste-your-time power trails will cure that problem!

We’ve done our part….hidden 26 since the whole shutdown stuff started in mid-March.Β  Plus one Adventure Lab.
