      for page 1220

I had a log on one of my caches last weekend that said they were concerned about gunshots around them. It’s on a state wildlife area and I have the “Hunting” attribute on the page.

For sure, many seasons for hunting in Wisconsin, not just the gun deer season. However it seems far more accidents/incidents happen during the time of the gun deer season. I have moved from public to private hunting lands. Too many other hunters who have walked past me and one not so pleasant encounter. No cachers are hidden in the area either! Good move for those hunting attributes!

The DNR is warning hunters NOT to use ash trees as deer stands! There are so many dead ones from the emerald ash borer, and the dead branches are extremely brittle. You could ID the dead ash trees, as they were the ones with no leaves all summer/fall. Now, ALL the trees have no leaves, making it harder to identify them!

There are more accidents from deer stands than guns.

Let’s see, I have 2 stands in popple trees and 2 in maples. I think I’m good.

Welcoming Wednesday the 18th with a FTP Warmer weather coming but breezy. Anticipating continued good weather for the upcoming hunt for caches or deer! Wear the Blaze out there, eh? Spending time today sewing extra polar fleece to 2 pairs of mittens. It seems with small hands I can never find warm mittens, so I’m alterating what I have by hand sewing more material to their backs. Works well (I hope)

I haven’t hunted the deer gun season in several years…have found that having metal hips makes sitting in the cold unbearable. I much prefer the bow season…shot a nice buck the second day of season so there’s venison in the freezer:) But have fun out there…hope you stay warm.

Website seems ultra slow today. No issues with any other ones I used. Anyone else experience this?

It always has been slow long as I can remember. It actually took me 5 minutes just to load this site on my phone and then post this reply. One of the reasons why I stopped visiting this site.

Same for me.  Maybe the Squirrel needs some caffeine.  🍵

Cachers will spend 30-40 minutes looking for a bison tube when it’s 0 out, then complain when the WGA site is pokey due to technical issues and volunteers that won’t fix it when they snap their fingers.

We’ll get through this, and without a bug that will infect everyone!

Not complaining about our great admin volunteers.  I only mentioned it to find out of it was my technology or the site.  If it is some bug invading out website, I’m sure it is being handled.

And I was just generalizing. There are rants on FB, too.

What a gorgeous weekend to be outdoors! I went for a long walk through town yesterday…pretty quiet. I can guess where everybody was? 🙂
