First page :ftp: of 2021.
01/01/2021 at 8:31 am #2067507Happy New Year…even though pandemic and election fatigue didn’t go away at midnight. I think I’ll go for a hike in the woods today…maybe some fresh air will negate it. It’s beautiful out there and the temps are mild. 🙂

I’d Rather Be Lost Geocaching, Than Found At Home!
01/02/2021 at 11:26 am #2067510Foggy morning here. We went out yesterday for our First Hike and explored some of the new trails that opened this fall around Grandads Bluff. Lots of work and the results are wonderful. I am also excited to see that the American Birding Association’s Bird of the Year, announced at midnight yesterday, is…..Pileated Woodpecker. It’s my year!

I had a pileated woodpecker in my crabapple trees yesterday.

01/03/2021 at 8:31 pm #2067515I must be lost . . . actually it’s WFH for 9 months and your routine is totally screwed up and you only have one computer screen and it’s your personal laptop screen . . . . 11″ of I work with art all day so ummm no, not working well measuring flexo PDFs looking at color seps . . . insert a hard eye roll here. However, my newly converted bedroom (just moved the furniture) works well as an office since my outside office is temporarily unavailable until April? I almost have the squirrels eating out of my hands. ALMOST . . .
Anyhow, I made two nominations for the BOD. Won’t say who (I will if this turns into a discussion), but I would really like to hear who you all think would be a great leader for our state. 2020 has been hard on all of us in many different ways especially the WGA. Hardly any events, no income, no introducing the new BOD to the members . . .
And who one here would like to try their hand on the BOD? It’s not hard. Just takes time and commitment to a hobby we all keep near and dear to our hearts.
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

01/03/2021 at 9:43 pm #2067516This is OUR WGA you guys. We decide what’s best for us and who is best for us. We decide how our money is spent at and for events. Every single dollar you contribute to the WGA goes back to you and the events. WGA has done some awesome things over the past years with education, support, and keeping Wisconsin Uniquely Wisconsin.
I can say this now as a member who does not have to pay a membership fee to be a part of this amazing association. Please please support our organization to keep it thriving as it has been for I believe 20 years this year.

01/03/2021 at 10:06 pm #2067518Actually, it is 19 years this year. While the idea to form a group happened in 2001, the name “Wisconsin Geocaching Association” was not used until 2002.
