And I’ll sign the :ftp: for page 1284.
04/27/2022 at 7:10 am #2069608FTP for the 27th Finaly a sunny day Up North, but heavy frost on the roof stops. Chequamegon Bay is clearing it’s ice. At least 1/3 of the bay is showing open water and with east winds today, another shift of the ice pack might just be the final grind.

04/28/2022 at 8:58 am #2069614FTP for the 28th!
04/29/2022 at 10:26 am #2069616FTP for Friday the 29th Lots of Swans, mergansers, golden eye, and buffle-head ducks on the bay near Ashland. Chequamegon Bay is opening up more everyday. I saw fishing boats loaded and heading to the open water near Bayfield this morning. Boats and Harleys mean it’s truly spring! Also saw Cedar Wax-wings feeding on the left over flowering crab apples.

04/29/2022 at 10:14 pm #2069617Anyone geocaching or traveling west this summer, and has time to kill, Hotdogs_Off_Trail will be campground hosting at Wind cave National Park in South Dakota for the summer. Stop by and say hi if you’re in the area.
04/30/2022 at 9:42 am #2069618Hello, Hotdogs_Off_Trail! Awesome to see a post from some veteran cachers who taught me a lot in my early caching years! I won’t be out that way, so I’ll just say hi now. 😉
04/30/2022 at 11:11 am #2069619Wind Cave….Cool! Great 👍 spot for a nano if it were allowed, and GPS 💪worked.
04/30/2022 at 11:28 am #2069620Good idea, but National Park, so no nanos to drive someone crazy. While we were hosting at the Buffalo National river for two summers, I was selected to place a virtual cache, so I chose to place it in that Park, which is part of the National Park System. It really, literally took months to first find a location, and a long list of emails that had to travel up and down a system. I had everyone on that email chain even though there was to be no physical container, just go to the location and get a name off a sign, and see a beautiful view of the Buffalo National River from above, near a restaurant.
Little Corners of the Earth
by Hotdogs_Off_Trail | GC7B65R | ArkansasWe did leave a cache in Mirror Lake State Park while hosting there last summer, Zuma is the cache owner for maintenance purposes. And one in the Santa Fe National Forest in New Mexico while hosting there, maintained by Two Basset Slaves. So never rule anything out. Did you know that the two oldest geocaches in South Dakota were placed by cacher “ERH in Wisconsin”??
04/30/2022 at 11:30 am #2069621First to post from Arkansas today!!!!
04/30/2022 at 11:31 am #2069622Thanks Amita 17 for the warm reply. Jeff
04/30/2022 at 2:29 pm #2069623Hotdogs, your traversing a lot of Cool Territories! Including Gorilla Stash’s Mountain Homeland! EHR’s caches in S.D. look like they’d be a blast…someday, maybe! Need to make sure we travel with binder twine just in case we get the chance to make that climb! [ One way to make it into the news, under obits………….. 😉 ] Be Safe!
05/01/2022 at 7:46 am #2069624FTP for May Day!
