Yesterday I sounded like Kathleen Turner, but today I sound more like Barry White. In fact, sometimes when my breathing gets labored, I sound more like James Earl Jones as Darth Vader.

You should record a bunch of fun outgoing voice mail messages. Take care of yourself, wishing a speedy recovery.

“Luke… I am your FAHther.”
02/12/2015 at 10:12 am #2035515So, I shouldn’t talk about weather today?
Yes, tell us about your Oregon weather, Noonan. I want to hear about people walking around without wearing coats and worms crawling around under leaf piles. 😆
02/12/2015 at 11:21 am #2035524I was just musing….LaCrosse lost its last full service camera store a couple years ago when the owner and his son were murdered, making the store into a crime scene for months. No one reopened it and now other businesses have moved into that space.
Are such stores a thing of the past? For those of you in other cities, do you still have one? Or will they, too, go the way of the film canister?
02/12/2015 at 11:50 am #2035525I have taken a couple cameras over the years to BDC Camera Repair in Madison. They used to be just off the square, but are now located on Odana Road on the west side. With everything that can go wrong with digital cameras, I’m sure they do plenty of business. I saw that they did retrieval of photos from a disk, so maybe BBG can address that issue (the pics of his visit with his daughter to see Dr. Evermore were thankfully saved) and others for where he lives. Some professionals still use film, and their equipment needs to be worked on. Guess you need to go somewhere bigger than LaCrosse these days.

02/12/2015 at 12:38 pm #2035527There are two dedicated camera stores here in the Milwaukee area, Art’s and Mike Crivello’s. The sell, rent, fix equipment. They also do data recovery and film processing.
02/12/2015 at 12:54 pm #2035528Good to know there are still a few such stores out there. When we moved to the area in 1980, there were three dedicated camera shops in LaCrosse.
02/12/2015 at 1:26 pm #2035530I am really tired today. The weather does not help at all. However, I did get a nice pair of fleece-lined wool mittens for my birthday!

02/12/2015 at 2:27 pm #2035532I think everyone must be sleeping and I am the only person awake. Oh no…perhaps I should take a nap.

02/12/2015 at 2:28 pm #2035533On a more serious note, I have student profiles for foreign exchange students next year. Who is interested in hosting? A fabulous experience. Or do you know anyone that might be interested?
