Here’s some useless drivel: I remember the term craphas was coined based on a typo, but did we ever settle on a pronunciation?  Are the p and the h pronounced separately or is it a digraph with the f sound?  Which syllable gets the accent?  Hmm.  The people who probably remember likely don’t visit here anymore.  😕

I have never heard anyone say the word out loud. In my head, it is crap ass. LOL

I recall the typo.  The primary voice in my head has always put the accent on the first syllable, thusly: craffussss. Ending with a punchy snake-hissss. Oh Yesssss!

However you pronounce it, we have :13: and a few inches of craphas, plus whatever the mixed precipitation melted down to.  Just a lot of yuck.

CRAP-us or CRAP-ass.  Derived from AstroKat’s “The white crap has arrived.” But she left out the space between “crap” and “has”. No “ph” or “f” sound. Labrat jumped on the typo and went off in many directions, like… Does craphas come in any color other than white?  You get the picture.  Of course, the drivel is a written and soundless medium, and I’m not sure how often the word comes up in conversation at events or other caching meet-ups.

FYI, only had a lot of rain in central and southern Sandland from this latest weather event, but the craphas was observed not too far north of Highway 21. Just glad I didn’t have to move any craphas this time.

Thanks, SL.  I remembered the original comment, but not the funny banter after.  And you’re right, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone use the word in actual conversation.
