Bright sun here so I’m sitting by the window watching birds and having lunch with our granddaughter Emma. Have to go out and fill the bird feeders today, but other than that it’s a do nothing day.

Becca,  We decided not to go.  Firstly, we have a lot of respect for that lake, and secondly…we just don’t want to experience it with a few thousand of our closest friends. Everyone feels differently, though.  I saw the maps from Monday and again on Tuesday after the winds blew through.  The ice looks pretty fickle at the moment on the main part of the lake.  The archipelago protects the ice sheet a bit more.

According to what was on the news in our area this morning the weather will probably keep the ice caves from being opened to the public.

Tooth was drilled and filled with meds before school started today (late start). Had time to get five finds and be home before my wife had to run to town. Now it is resting time.

Yes, I was reading that they likely will be open but it’s pretty dangerous conditions.  I think we’ll postpone for another time, probably won’t be this year. And seeing them when it isn’t so crowded won’t be a reality for us for many years, I don’t think, as we only have weekends.
