The best sig is no sig.
11/28/2014 at 7:35 pm #2031018A day late, but I am thankful for squirrels and black cats!
This is a great thought!

11/28/2014 at 11:42 pm #2031021People have to be insane to shop on Black Friday.
I am afraid that I joined the insanity so I could buy a pair of discounted kayaks. Hooray! The store was very crowded but everyone was very patient and polite.
Oh the woes of the short geocacher!
11/29/2014 at 3:50 am #2031022FTP 4 Saturday!
11/29/2014 at 8:35 am #2031023Still in DesPlaines and all is quiet in the house. Everyone is sleeping still.

11/29/2014 at 9:24 am #2031024Another reason to like GSAK. I learned how to add to my non-caching automobile Garmin GPS so that it shows a category for geocaches and displays the name, GC#, D/T, and size by using the nuvifavoriteexportgpx.gsk macro. It will come in handy when driving to lots of caches on a full geocaching day. Then when I arrive at the roadside destination I can switch to my geocaching GPSr for the hike. In the past I knew how to dump a GPX file into my car NUVI GPS but it only showed the GC#’s. Now it will show all of that info at a glance as I select the next cache to drive to.
11/29/2014 at 9:25 am #2031025Awesome!
The best sig is no sig.
11/29/2014 at 9:34 am #2031026OOOOO h1o2 … I NEED to learn that too. I better get started! I change the GC # one at a time right now.
11/29/2014 at 11:24 am #2031027Cell phone in hand with the App pointing which way to go here. No built in nav.

11/29/2014 at 11:52 am #2031028There’s more than one way to do it; but here’s how I now load caches into my automobile GPSr:
1. When in GSAK, select MACRO
2. Select Run/Manage
3. Select ONLINE MACRO INDEX
4. Search for and select NUVIFAVORITEEXPORT (there’s currently nine different Nuvi macros available; I’ve never tried the others)
5. Download NUVIFAVORITEEXPORT.GSK
6. Install/open/run the macro in GSAK while you have the desired caches listed in GSAK
7. Click OK/ignore on the popup window that says the macro won’t be updated
8. On the next popup window, select FOLDER to direct where to export the GPX file you’re about to create, and then click START
9. A new GPX file is created named NuviGeocacheFavorite.gpx, ready to be sent to your Garmin automobile GPSr.
10. Copy and paste that file into the GPX folder of your Garmin automobile GPX file.
11. Your Garmin will now have a new category on it. Select WHERE TO > FAVORITES > GEOCACHES on your automoble GPSr.
12. Rejoice and do a victory dance.11/29/2014 at 12:13 pm #2031029I forgot what macro I use for my Nuvi, but I use the Garmin POI loader to load the GPS after running the macro.
However, once I get back on the caching trails, I’ll be using C:GEO on my phone to drive to caches. I’ll have C:GEO linked to my driving app and it will take me there, no problem.
I still will use my Garmin Venture HC to cache when I get there.

11/29/2014 at 2:18 pm #2031047Did you know that leather straps on snow boot skis break after sitting in the garage for about 20 years? Poohs Pal was bummed. So was I. I don’t know where all the various sizes of real ski boots have been stowed.
11/29/2014 at 3:07 pm #2031048I came to the realization last year that I might not ever go downhill skiing again. I’m probably going downhill fast enough! 😉
