Useless Drivel:
Shameless Plug: Sorry, it is my God daughter’s first communion.
What is in MN: 10,000 lakes, MOA, snow, ice, Bmidji, A green giant, Spam museum, a few caches, etc.
I love when the city plows at 1:00 am. It is great to wake up to the frozen ramp at the end of the driveway.
Daughter the older is ill today.
Mark Greaney writes cliff notes versions of Tom Clancy books. They are fun, but lack depth.
Metcalfe’s Sentry was selling 5# bags of potatoes for $0.49 (limit 1 per visit) that is 50# for $4.90 (10 visits later).
Cermak Market is selling red and green peppers for $.10 a piece. I am stuffing peppers the rest of the week.
10 days ’til Pi day, make plans for those souvenirs. I am grabbing a slice in Delafield, WI. I hope I can make it after work.
The ill one is moving…….we are going to watch Ender’s Game.
I am done driveling.
03/04/2015 at 9:21 am #2036643Well, so much for Senior Day at Shopko. BBG seems to have his own strategy for stocking the pirate larder! 😉
03/04/2015 at 9:23 am #2036644More useless drivel.
I hope to load up some boxes with “stuff” and drop it off at Good Will today. At least get it in boxes. Maybe the dropping off will be on the weekend.
Time to gather papers and start working on our taxes. I don’t know what to expect. This is my first year of semi-retirement. Don’t know if I’ll owe or get $ back.
I discovered a pretty neat DVR option this week. Windows Media Center on my computer has the option of recording any show or movie that’s on the schedule. I don’t have a $100+ subscription to any cable or satellite co, so I don’t have a traditional DVR to record with. I checked over the weekend what movies were coming up that I could potentially record on my computer with WMC; it had 831 choices. That’s a lot of options. It records them in WTV format. Not sure what will play them other than Windows Media Center on the computer. I know there’s programs out there that will convert WTV to mp4 or avi, so I’ll possibly look into that if WTV won’t play on the TV.
03/04/2015 at 9:26 am #2036645So far I’ve only recorded the series premiere of “The Last Man on Earth” and the movie “Mama Mia.” Never saw that movie but heard it’s good. I also set it up to record the entire season of American Idol, starting tonight.
03/04/2015 at 9:48 am #2036647Today is National Grammar Day. Watch you’re dangling modifiers, and, superfluous commas!
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.

Could you repeat that in English, please? (We still have a VCR… 🙄 )
03/04/2015 at 10:02 am #2036651Taxes: sounds like fun.
National Grammar Day: I would call her if she was still with us.
Mamma Mia: I liked the stage production, I saw a few years back, better than the film.
Boxes of stuff: Have you considered Salvation Army or Purple Heart they actually help the poor? The other guys profit from your donation.
DVR: Like

) Explanation #1:
Blah blah blah record blah blah blah. And blah.
Explanation #2:
“IF” you have a TV antenna hooked up to your computer, or a cable (or satellite TV cable) hooked up to your computer, you can use the program on your PC called “Windows Media Center” to view live TV or record shows to watch later.

This is what the TV Guide on Windows Media Center looks like:

Then you select a show/movie to watch or record.

Here is something you may want to look into as far as streaming/dvr goes:
All it takes is a library card. My kids are really excited about this service.
03/04/2015 at 11:23 am #2036655Green peppers … $1.00 each, didn’t look at red ones
50# of potatoes would rot, barely get through 5# before they get “funny”
Sun is shining, wind is blowing and I have supper made already and only needs warming up.
One load of laundry washed, dried and hung up, 6.5 miles done on treadmill and bike, bed made, grocery shopping done and delivered for my mother.
I think I am done now unless Pat wants to discuss Petroglyphs. 🙂
03/04/2015 at 11:45 am #2036656Hack, I have a Mac.
And as for those boxed-up items, if they are clothes and can sit around your house for a month, may I suggest GC5NT3H ?
