I messed that quote up, and the edit function timed out after five minutes. To quote Birdin’… “Maybe this will work….maybe.”
Maybe this will work….maybe.

This quoting thing on the new website is taking some getting used to. Maybe the video clip is working for everyone else with faster connections… maybe.
I think I’ll go back to my posting hiatus… 😕
03/08/2015 at 8:15 pm #2036934Checked on my wife’s hide today. Found two chew tins at GZ and repurposed one to replace the missing container. His four more along the way. Realized as I was typing one up it would make a good letterbox, so I need to do more work to make it one, but it is already hidden.
Called to see if I had time to drive out to a lonely cache since I was already halfway there. Request denied.
Did some needed yard work as a family. Spotted a mourning cloak as it flew by! All kinds of rodents scurrying about too. Even saw a dove doing some fancy dance moves to catch another’s eye. And this is March!
Walked with the kids to the park again today. Huge tadpoles in the River and frogs all over!
Found a good spot to place a hide on the way home, just need to talk to the owners (still).
Had a better day than expected after the way it started. The best sig is no sig.
03/08/2015 at 8:28 pm #2036935Had a great birthday Bloody Mary and a cup of mushroom soup to go with it. Also had two great beers for those who like hoppy bitter ones. Epic Hopulent and New Belgium Slow Ride IPA. Way too much food on others plates. BM & soup was perfect combo.
03/08/2015 at 8:29 pm #2036936Okay, we were out caching along the St. Croix and thereabouts all day, and I realized with our early start, I had forgotten something very important!
Just sing along and insert the name “Chatauqua” in the correct line of the song!
03/08/2015 at 8:31 pm #2036937LOL Birdin, thanks.
03/08/2015 at 8:35 pm #2036939Did you get the FTF on that one becca?

The actual cache was about a mile away, but yes I got the FTF. 🙂

I love seeing those early in the spring (or late winter) when we’re walking in the woods and nothing is green yet. Just as good a sign of spring for me as robins.
And today we *may* have seen a pair of whooping cranes heading towards the Necedah Wildlife Refuge. Huge birds, only two, white, and flying more like cranes than swans or anything else. Too far up for us to tell for sure, plus we were moving in the car, but they should be migrating about now.
Stopped below the Petenwell dam, and there were more anglers in boats than eagles. Saw only one of those, but at least half a dozen watercraft, plus some folks on the fishing pier. Didn’t see anyone catch anything, though.
03/08/2015 at 9:38 pm #2036952We spotted a guy doing catch and release on one of the Driftless trout streams when we were heading to the Kickapoo Reserve yesterday. And today while doing probably our last ice walk to a cache for the season, a few ice fishermen. Two swans. A few eagles. Many sitting on the Mississippi just below Reads Landing. Must be a fish kill drawing them into groups out there.
03/08/2015 at 10:41 pm #2036953My husband was in southern chicago today and headed to Indiana tonight for work tomorrow. His plans for the day fell through so I threw out there as a joke “Well, you could always run down to Turkey Run and find one of the oldest geocaches in the world”. I couldn’t believe it but he decided that was a good idea. So armed with just his smartphone he went out and found it. He said that he’s a muddy mess but that the park was beautiful and it was a cool cache. I’m a little jealous, I wanted to find that one myself, but I am glad we can both enjoy the hobby.
