03/26/2015 at 10:12 am #2037888Got a call from the shop last night about the Volt. Packrat chewed through high voltage wires. Car was “undrivable”. Never mind I have been driving it for months and the 3 hours up there.
$3600 to replace the wires so they can see if anything else is wrong. $375 to do the windshield.
Puts a dent in the plans for fun the rest of the Break. The best sig is no sig.

When mice chewed the fittings off the fuel pump on my Fiesta I called it ” rodent damage” and my insurance paid the claim under comprehensive – no deductible.
03/26/2015 at 11:28 am #2037892It happened twice, $500+ each time and I never paid a penny.

Ooh that’s rough, I hope you’re able to get your insurance to cover it!

03/26/2015 at 12:35 pm #2037895I’d check into jar’s solution. We’ve been lucky with that kind of thing, although the rodents seem to favor our garage/shed, not the car garage…thank goodness.
Hope you can get a reasonable outcome there.
03/26/2015 at 3:16 pm #2037899If PFT is Mr. GT’s new FTP, I may just have to start using GC5PHTK as my new FTP … at least until April 26. Ā š
