I think I’m going to be chasing the last living relative of the Passenger Pigeon today. Band-tailed Pigeon is being seen near Cuba City. There’s a geocache down that way I’ve wanted to explore, anyway. Have a good day!

13 caches yesterday with one DNF because it is gone. But we established that. Got sunburnt. Tons of butterfies blowing by in the wind, red admirals, clouded sulphur, cabbage but no monarchs yet. Brown ones I didn’t recognize. And, a snake swimming in the ditch alongside the trail.
Sounds just like the stories I am hearing from all of you right now!

Does anyone listen to Radiolab? The story they had about the Japanese balloon bombs took place here! There are kids related to the woman in the story in school!
I really want to get up to the “shrapnel tree”. No caches there, but it would make a great ? location.

Well, the bird flipped me the bird, but I still had fun. Once I accepted failure there, I headed off to get some caches. Probably won’t get much, if any, logging done tonight, but check one called “Cache the Fever,” down near Hazelgreen. Awesome cache! I also am kicking myself for not stopping to take photos of the two main businesses in New Diggings, but there were people standing out front. People who added to the charm, actually.

This is the GC number for that cache. http://coord.info/GC11RNV

With the new site, any GC links don’t load if there are any other characters next to the code 🙁

When I clicked on the second link in my message, it did come through.

Guess the bird finally reappeared around 4PM. Glad I didn’t sit in my car that whole time! Wonder where it was the six hours between sightings?

Did a couple of night caches this evening.  So much fun!

HA! New Diggings! We went in the front door and out the back door in the southern establishment last summer! We did NOT fit in at all!

The general store or the saloon? The saloon looked closed, but the general store was hopping. Some interesting characters on the porch.
