I escaped to find 1 cache.  I wandered for over an hour.  I enjoyed seeing the blood root emerging from the decaying leaves.  I saw a few serpents and sang “Oklahoma!” to myself as I watched a red tailed hawk making lazy circles in the sky.

We saw our first serpent yesterday….baby timber rattler that would not vacate the narrow ridge top rocky trail.  Bloodroot, Dutchmen’s breeches, spring beauty and round-lobed hepatica have all been seen around these parts the past week, along with some marsh marigolds.

Major spring housecleaning is just about done.  We’re in a space clearing mood, too.  I passed off a pile of storytelling books to a friend heading to the big conference to be sold at the fundraiser.  Wish I could have brought them myself.  The conference is getting way too expensive for someone who has maybe one paid gig a year these days.  🙁

That is what we did on Wednesday. Haven’t logged anything yet.

Bartrod, if you travel to Sandland for our CITO on Sunday, that would give you some points towards getting on the Nice List.

Sorry…going hunting for bear bait again with labzone, Screamin’ Mimi 60, and the Happy Hodag. Put in a good word for me though, would’cha?

Enough lurking.  I keep seeing that reference to  “Hunting for bear bait” and I have to ask.

Is that looking for mushrooms?  It’s to early for berries.  Or are you guys the potential bear bait…   Or is that a power trail up north that I think I might be aware of??

Say hi to Mimi for me! We taught together almost 20 years ago when I was just starting and played tons of volleyball with and against each other. Great to be around her except to talk politics 🙂
