Oh my…things are not good here in the Fox Valley tonight. A shooting in the trestle bridge area by Fritse Park…..with rumors of up to four dead and six injured. Sounds like two shooters….a bit close to home….
How scary!
So sad….a father and his 11-year old daughter. Mother shot 3 times, in critical condition….but got her other two children to safety. Praying hard….

05/04/2015 at 12:07 pm #2039489Very sad. All because the shooter got in a fight with his girlfriend. Another man not related to the family victims, shot and killed. So senseless.

05/04/2015 at 2:49 pm #2039493Yes, this trestle shooting has really hit home. The mother involved is my co-worker. She works nights and I work days so we don’t know each other, but her whole department, and others who know the family, are reeling. Such a senseless situation.
05/04/2015 at 4:27 pm #2039494I was thinking of you when I heard this was in Menasha, Debby. Sorry to hear how close the situation is for you and your co-workers. You are right: so senseless.

05/04/2015 at 4:57 pm #2039496Trekkin’s nephew was at the bridge last night and left 30 minutes before this happened. It is just so senseless. My heart goes out to all involved.
05/04/2015 at 8:21 pm #2039501I remember caching in that park after the winter solstice event this winter…great scenic area…can’t believe that image has been ruined:(

We’re going to a wedding in less than two weeks in Appleton (during the campout). The couple that were shot were both going to stand up in the wedding; she was going to be a bridesmaid and he was to be the best man. So very sad.

It is so sad in so many ways…..I just do not understand what motivates someone to do something like this…..

05/05/2015 at 1:00 pm #2039513It really is hard to understand. I can understand the upset over a broken relationship, but the randomness of it all…..not at all. This is hitting home for a lot of us for any number of reasons. Heck, seldom seen put a tribute cache in that park that took us hours to dig out in the winter. I think a lot of us here have some kind of connection, either with those lost or the park where it happened. There are news stories like this every day, sadly, but when they come close like this, it is felt so much more. So sad.

Going for a bike ride.
My granddaughter is in the ER. Please pray.
I just received chocolate in today’s mail (from Georgia – as in the country) and a bottle of wine and a Georgian cookbook. I love my job. Does anyone want to host a lovely Georgian girl this next school year?
