Happy birthday to my wife!

05/09/2015 at 3:07 pm #20396206 hour bump. Everyone must be out caching.
05/09/2015 at 3:11 pm #2039622So sad! The snowy owl that I’d seen on a couple of occasions around Oconto this winter was found dead out near the breakwater. It was sent in for testing and is the first confirmed case of a wild bird having contracted the avian disease that’s dessimating all the chickens.
Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
05/09/2015 at 3:14 pm #2039623The birding world got that news a couple days ago. Sad and concerning at the same time. Up until that bird, the only confirmed cases in the state were at poultry or turkey operations.
05/09/2015 at 5:01 pm #2039625Didn’t even realize it, but I got a new life bird today. And possibly a personal best for number of species spotted in an outing….91. Birding with others, I actually made the spot on at least two good birds, too. And I didn’t even bird the grasslands there. Probably I should have!
05/09/2015 at 6:08 pm #2039627Moving to the other side of town today. Moving is really no fun and when you do it as often as we have lately no one wants to help you. But we should be here for at least a year now so at least we won’t have to face this again for a year.

05/09/2015 at 6:50 pm #2039628Got done working early. I guess moms are not getting wine. I think I will take the wife out for dinner.
I bird flu or whatever is scary. I am friends with the man in charge of the avians at the Milwaukee County zoo and they have thought about keeping their birds indoors this summer. He says they will be out. They will just be cautious.
05/09/2015 at 7:42 pm #2039632Hit 700 today and then some. There was a string of 27 hidden SE of here. Far enough I can’t sneak out and grab them until now. The CO has been prodding me to get them because he is afraid no one else will?
So, the adventure starts at GC5RME2 with a FTF, which should be the first of 27. The road they are on is coincidentally the road that lead to the N42 W121 confluence point. I’ve been meaning to put a cache there, because I discovered confluence.org before I started caching. Technically speaking, I found “World Quarters” before any other cache, but caching hadn’t been invented yet.Anyway, dropped two caches around the confluence point, had a good time with the dogs, and headed back to the end of the string of caches. That would be GC5RMDM and then things started getting strange.
Hooked up with the other cachers and got the rest as co-FTF, then I wanted to head to GC4MZoM
That cache I have been pining for since before we moved out here. You can read the rest 🙂
Great day caching both solo and with a small team!
Now I need to get the three I placed online, do dishes, shower and make supper. Probably in that order.

05/09/2015 at 7:55 pm #2039633That should be GC4MZ0M

05/09/2015 at 9:50 pm #2039635Congrats on the milestone, Noonan!
I took the wine business into my own hands when I was at the birder’s social at the winery last night.
How long have I known we’d be going to the campout? So why is it that I haven’t really thought about solving those five puzzles in the park we hadn’t found…until now?
