I am sleepy from this weekend!  But I will rally again by tomorrow, I think.  It was so fun to see lots of you this weekend.  🙂

        He is alive.

I just saw a hummingbird on my feeder in the yard.  It is the first official siting here.  I watched one at Grant Park this morning building a nest.  It was fun to see even though I picked up about a dozen ticks.

Something must be wrong with me.  I haven’t picked up any ticks this year.

Stand about 134 feet northeast of  GC5DZZV for about fifteen minutes.  I collected them there.

I made our camping reservations for the BWCA next month, where we’ll celebrate our 35th anniversary by visiting two virtual caches up there and enjoying our bottle of expensive red wine we bought in Door County this past winter for the occasion.

I know someone will ask, so here they are…..

Don’t tell anyone, but we’re teaming up for this with some Minnesota cachers. That way, we don’t have to worry about licensing our canoe…or hauling it!

I also sent off emails to two contacts regarding the “incidental take” permit the DNR is going to grant the railroad to add a second rail through our marsh. Endangered Black Terns nest there. At this point, that project will go through, but it would be nice to put a hold on things in that area until nesting season is over. I cannot fathom the fact that the Natural Resources department, charged with protecting our resources, would allow “incidental take” of a threatened species. I could say more on the topic, but I’ll leave it at that. A lot of folks like to go on and on on facebook about causes and politics. I wonder how many do anything more than that. It’s not that tough to send an email to the people involved.

No wonder I’m never getting these logs finished!

We just rototilled some of the dust so that we can plant this year’s rabbit food, and in the process, we most likely planted several hundred new maple trees. 🙄
