It won’t stop raining, or even slow down. So….we just got back from LaCrosse, where we enjoyed an afternoon concert series at one of the coffee places. Kick*** local bluegrassy group with an amazing fiddler. Fun time! (except for trying to find parking, it gets worse all the time). (But also shows the downtown is thriving, not dying).

Rain started here just as I was going out to mow the lawn.At least we got the garden planted yesterday.

All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.

802 and counting. Great views along the trail again today. Now time to fix the gas line on the mower and get some work done.

There goes another new one Todd. I really like the one on the bridge just downstream from there

Yup. Now, see, this is why I never chase FTF’s. I know from experience that if a new cache is placed on a trail with plenty of room for more caches, more caches will placed there in the future. So it’s a good thing I didn’t go out there yesterday to find it because if I did, I would have to go back again today and find the other one.

HappyDorkGirl and I are planning to look for both of them later today if the rains hold off. Otherwise, I’ll grab them tomorrow when I run my errands in Green Bay.

And we found them. I was FTF on the first. HappyDorkGirl was FTF on the second.

We both claimed a co-FTF though. All I can say is – major bushwacking was involved on both caches, which definitely earned the T3 rating, maybe a half star more.

          Cool!
          Went 1/1/1 today
Find wasn’t as hard as I made it
DNF well, who knows. It’s on an island that isn’t an island due to the drought. I think a packrat moved in at the cache location, but it is a micro with all kinds of rocks and bushes to place it in. I am going to write one of the very few finders to see what he remembers. It’s worth coming back because this is a park with very few hides and so many possibilities!
The third 1 was a can’t attempt due to water. The big island is still an island although in a year or two that wY change if the weather keeps up as it has for the past two.

Almost forgot the highlight of the morning!
On the way home from GC1Q9NE we came across a flick of sheep in the middle of the road around the corner from GC5GXZM so we pulled into the driveway even though it was pretty clear nobody was home. Knocked on the door anyway and got no answer but I could see across the pasture the neighbors were out and watching me so I hollered over to tell them about the sheep and he said he’d be over.
I walked toward the sheep because I knew rigs hauling campers were coming down the road anytime because I had passed them on the way out of the park.
The neighbor showed up in his truck and it was my boss!
The sheep saw the two of us and squirmed their way back under the gate. He said it was his son’s place so he could take care of things.
Good scoring points with the boss when you aren’t even trying!

Getting in on the Todd300/Noonan blog.

Randy, I think the unfamiliar CO of the two caches that I found today may have been part of a geocaching family and he probably just got his own account, which explains only two finds on it. He did a great job with coordinates and the caches were well hidden. I was impressed.

Looks like Todd’s wishes are coming true, just in the “wrong” county!
