Oh, I had an assignment like that long ago. Worked at a discount store in the Twin Cities and a guy living in the projects demanded delivery service for a weather band radio on sale. This was the same part of town where the National Guard was called in during all the riots in the late 60s, though this was more like 1974. Anyway, the guy I worked with didn’t want to make that delivery alone, so I guess I was recruited as back up. (Maybe my tomboy upbringing would bring a sense of safety, who knows?) Turns out this was a lonely old man who loved radios of all kinds, and likely only got visitors for things like this and the meal delivery program. While I still know I need to be aware of my surroundings, it was a good way to learn that we don’t always need to fear what we don’t know. Hope you have a similar story in the end!
