Trekkin’ is on the phone again with his Amish friend. This always cracks me up!
What…two tin cans and a string? 🙂
12/09/2014 at 2:09 pm #2032297This is so cool. For years I’ve suggested to family that there is no need to run around trying to figure out what gift to get. We don’t need anything. It can be a hard habit to break.
Today we got a card in the mail from UNICEF. Mom and Dad bought two locally made (in Malawi) desks for school kids in our name.

12/09/2014 at 6:51 pm #2032300ZB’s snow fort is up for favorite video clip of the year at the Green Bay station that came out to his place to interview him and get a tour of the fort in February. This poll only let me vote once, but I’m going to try again tomorrow, just in case it’s once a day. I figured the drivelers would be good for a few votes, plus you can get another chance to see the marshmallow kingdom again.
And where is that DSK on the new site? I haven’t seen him here yet…

The reviewer doesn’t like my cache next to school because of creepy people… Blah. We want to use it for school and I got the ok from my boss. Mentioned that in the reviewer note. One was approved the other day with a similar proximity.
I’m hoping my nice reply will change their mind.
UghThe best sig is no sig.

UghDoes the reviewer think the school is full of creepy people or that geocaching is ?

12/10/2014 at 8:26 am #2032313Good Day,
I am a volunteer reviewer for Geocaching.com in Oregon. I am looking at your cache and I’m concerned about how close it is to school property.
The guidelines (http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.printer.friendly&id=11) state:
Geocaches are not placed on school property. Many primary, middle and secondary schools do not allow geocaching within their borders. Further, it is inadvisable to place geocaches near schools as the borders shown on a map may be inaccurate. Geocachers who are actively searching for a cache are likely to arouse suspicion in such environments, and we want to avoid this situation.
Considering it from a the perspective of a parent whose child attends that school, seeing people walking close to the school and the parking lot behaving oddly (as so many cachers do when they’re looking for a cache) during recess just doesn’t feel ok. For what it’s worth, several cachers have told me that they feel uncomfortable finding a cache near a school or a playground if they’re alone because they’re concerned that someone will think they’re predators when all they’re doing is looking for a cache.
I have temporarily disabled your cache to allow you to relocate it away from the school. Once you have moved the cache and changed the coordinates, please log a reviewer note on the cache page so I know to look at it again.
Thanks for understanding,
The best sig is no sig.
12/10/2014 at 8:26 am #203231412/10/2014 at 9:53 am #2032315Noonan, I can understand where the reviewer is coming from. I was at the center of a bomb scare a few years ago when I found a cache near a school in Ashwaubenon and someone thought I was very suspicious and called the cops on me.
12/10/2014 at 5:49 pm #2032318OK. I’m finally in, and Todd’s post is from a more realistic seven-plus hours ago instead of the two-hour figure that sat there for a while.
FYI, I logged in, but when I went to check on a page, it said I wasn’t logged in. Didn’t matter which page. I’ve been trying since sometime after 5:00 (I was gone all afternoon.)
12/10/2014 at 6:07 pm #2032319Does anyone have a DVR without a subscription service? What model and how do you like it. Thinking of cutting the cord with cable. We just don’t watch TV enough.
12/10/2014 at 6:07 pm #2032320FTP by the way
