I think we got a cache in that Mayville Park a couple years ago. Clearly it’s not longer there. Nice to have a new one in place!
Still looking at this evening’s gorgeous weather and thinking…..they’ve got it all wrong for tomorrow.
I hope.
06/10/2015 at 8:33 pm #2040457The grandkids are in town for the rest of the week. We played pirate and took the boat up the river looking for treasure this evening. Arghh!!
Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)

06/11/2015 at 9:50 am #2040463We finally have our first WGASPS biome souvenir. Any guesses as to which one? (No caches from a recent outing have been logged yet… and Birdin’ is ineligible for this contest, since I told her the answer.)
Central Sands Prairie?

06/11/2015 at 10:12 am #2040465That’s a place we wanted to visit with our sons, but things never seem to work out for us. We’re thinking positive about our BWCA weekend, hoping the deluge isn’t quite what they’re predicting. We’ve been looking forward to doing that trip for a long time.
06/11/2015 at 10:32 am #2040466Daughter is at Great America today on her 8th grade class trip. It looks like they are still dry.
I am having the wife’s and my family over Sunday for a cook out. I am hoping the rain doesn’t swamp the yard. I think it might be a bit uncomfortable if everyone has to be indoors.
I was going to grab a cache this A.M., but the rain showers convinced me to stay home and read “Finder’s Keepers”.

When we were there a few years ago with our great-nephew, we booked a room at the Farview Lodge well into the park. No TVs. It was really quiet. We sat on our balcony and watched lightning over New Mexico in the distance. When we heard some rustling in the bushes not far below us, we went running inside! (We think it was a deer… nothing dangerous.)
If I remember correctly, the campgrounds are near the entrance of the park, and one has to drive the winding roads up to get to the interesting stuff. They were doing road construction the time we were there. Flaggers in many spots. Still a great place to visit.

Nope. But we stopped by this place on our travels:
06/11/2015 at 11:18 am #2040472Oh joy….(holding my breath). The latest forecast from NOAA, while still issuing flash flood warnings, has downgraded their definition of “heavy rains.” More like 2 inches total….hope they’re right, I know our house can handle that.
