East sandland experienced about a tenth of an inch of rain.
No flooding here.
06/15/2015 at 8:59 pm #2040568We went completely out of contact from Friday morning to around 6PM tonight when we got home. It was wonderful! The BWCA was wonderful. And…we came home to water in the basement. Our amazing son spent the afternoon doing his best to contain it, but…here we go again. I say get rid of the carpet. It’s the guest room. We never have overnight guests. If we do….it’s still a nice quiet room.
Sigh.
06/15/2015 at 9:07 pm #2040569I got a 2TF yesterday one year after the FTF.

06/15/2015 at 9:11 pm #2040570Kids took out five caches since school got out, including my hotel, again.
Two bugs lost, again.
On an upside, somebody is posting in German on finds today along with another in English.
We have two new cachers in town too!

06/15/2015 at 9:16 pm #2040572Oh, and I am now officially at 300 birds for the American Birding Assn. North American region. Olive- sided Flycatcher in the campsite, and Connecticut Warbler was #300 on the Superior Hiking Trail.
06/15/2015 at 9:35 pm #2040573Spotted a Western Tanager up close yesterday but couldn’t get a picture.

06/15/2015 at 9:35 pm #2040574Tough 1st day. The previous employee on my route was disgruntled. It is going to be a tough few weeks.
The BBQ went as good as expected.

06/16/2015 at 8:32 am #2040578I found my hummingbird feeder chewed-up and empty this morning. All the bee guards were chewed and on the ground. I made repairs and put it back out and the hummingbirds are slowly getting back in sync.
It appears to be the work of a tree rat though I never heard of them attacking a hummingbird feeder before. I guess they are destroyers of opportunity.
06/16/2015 at 8:38 am #2040579I had a tree rat trying to get to my hummingbird feeder this morning. Until I let the dogs out, then he had other priorities.

06/16/2015 at 8:40 am #2040582With the Stanley Cup victory last night, it is now time to shave the playoff beard. Otherwise it would just be a beard.

No, a bear is much too big to chew up bee guards. They would have just disappeared.
