With the Stanley Cup victory last night, it is now time to shave the playoff beard. Otherwise it would just be a beard.
I didn’t get a chance to see the play-off beard. Photo?

06/16/2015 at 3:21 pm #20405881500 finds in one day? Is that doable, even on a power trail?
In a 24 hour period, that’s 62.5 finds per hour. That means a person would have to find just over one cache per minute.
It just cannot be done. It takes time to get to each cache 528 feet apart, find it, retrieve log, sign it, replace log, replace cache, then dash to the next cache.
It just cannot be done.
06/16/2015 at 3:53 pm #2040589No, it’s easy. First you prepare 1500 film canisters with pre-signed logs. Then you drive along the power trail, stopping every 0.1 miles, toss a film can out the window, then copy/paste the log; “Didn’t find cache so we replaced it.”

06/16/2015 at 3:53 pm #2040590Teamwork, Todd. And a plan.
06/16/2015 at 3:55 pm #2040591Todd, it was probably done with 4 people participating. We have never had a day that big, but with just 2 of us we have done 50 in an hour a couple of times. We easily did 60 in just under 2 hours earlier this month.
06/16/2015 at 3:58 pm #2040592Driver, navigator, log signer, jump out guy. You start with a bunch of containers with signed logs and drop one at the first cache and move that first one to the next stop.
06/16/2015 at 4:00 pm #2040593Saw the sweetest act of kindness a short time ago. A male cardinal was feeding a non cardinal (I think a finch) Calling all bird people. Is this normal?
06/16/2015 at 4:07 pm #2040594It wasn’t a cowbird that had been raised by the cardinal, was it? Cowbirds lay their eggs in other birds’ nests, then skip the whole parenting thing.
06/16/2015 at 4:15 pm #2040595Yup, looks more like a cowbird. Nice parents! Sheesh.
Thanks!

Is seems undoable but it happens often Todd. I’ve read of 24 hour expeditions to do them all, multiple people and also preparing a few to start with.

06/16/2015 at 5:59 pm #2040598We enjoy the 100 cache power trails that are in Wisconsin and have done several. If there was a larger one closer we would probably try it. Maybe in 2017 when we retire.
