Does anyone have a DVR without a subscription service? What model and how do you like it. Thinking of cutting the cord with cable. We just don’t watch TV enough.
We still use a VCR… 🙄

We still use a Viewmaster.
12/10/2014 at 7:05 pm #2032323OK. I’m finally in, and Todd’s post is from a more realistic seven-plus hours ago instead of the two-hour figure that sat there for a while.
FYI, I logged in, but when I went to check on a page, it said I wasn’t logged in. Didn’t matter which page. I’ve been trying since sometime after 5:00 (I was gone all afternoon.)
Ok, this is getting frustrating. I’ve been able to connect all day without any issues. If you were not getting an updated page with the correct last post time, then it has to be a caching issue. I’m going to turn it off for a while and see how it goes…
12/10/2014 at 7:09 pm #2032324I voted!
12/10/2014 at 7:14 pm #2032325I was overly cautious and signed in from page 29 a few minutes ago and this time I signed in from page 34 and it worked just fine.

We still use a Viewmaster.
The problem with those viewmasters is they don’t have enough new stuff. You’re stuck with slides from the 1960s. 😉

A caching issue??? Isn’t this website suppose to be about… caching? 😉
(Yeah, I know what you mean.)12/10/2014 at 7:29 pm #2032328I found our Viewmaster in the attic. I should pull it out for the grandkids entertainment. Surprisingly, these high tech kids LOVE the low tech toys around here. *eye roll*

My grandma was on a viewmaster reel. It was from the Ozarks in the late Sixties, and she had white hair and a red sweater, and she was sitting on a rock wall at a viewpoint. I think my uncle was with her. He had on bright blue socks and had his foot on that wall. The viewmaster people liked all the spots of color, so they posed that scene when they saw them there.
I think my sister has all the old viewmaster stuff. That reel was the newest in the batch. The ones for the nursery rhymes and the fairy tales were really creepy, especially in that 3D effect.

Could it be my Mac? The Squirrel prefers nuts to fruit.

(Yeah, I know what you mean.)Yeah, but this is OT. 🙂
At least we seemed to have figured out the problem. Now I need to find a page caching solution that works well…12/10/2014 at 8:58 pm #2032332Still look at the stereoscope, on occassion!
12/10/2014 at 9:13 pm #2032333As kids, we were amazed at my grandma’s stereoscopic photo viewer.
I’m on a Mac too Pat.
