Thanks for the ideas of how to pass the time in Manawa yesterday. We ended up winetasting at Winemaker’s Daughter. It was a very relaxed atmosphere with kind staff. We didn’t do any official birdwatching, but we did see a hawk. The music festival would have been a little too rustic for our mode of dress. I later found out the Wisconsin Powered Parachute Association had an event very close to the reception. That would have been my choice to go, but others I was with…not so much. Of course, we would have been overdressed for that as well.

Glad to hear you found a nice way to while away the waiting time!

Trekkin’ just ordered us tickets to go hear Abigail Washburn/ Bela Fleck in September. Again.  But they’re good!

HOW I SPENT MY FATHER’S DAY
        Went for a bike ride.
Hid a dozen caches ( no finding caches today)
Went to Applebee’s for lunch (brownie bite for dessert)
Went to Menard’s to buy lumber ( love the smell of cedar)
Went to Fleet Farm ( just because it’s next to Menard’s)
Just chillin’ for the rest of the day

My wife and I went for a 2 1/2 mile hike on the peninsula at Star Lake. We looked for a large cache that we ended up DNFing. So sad! No wonder she doesn’t like to cache.  But it was a great hike and a beautiful afternoon.

Finally got around to getting the souvenir today. Think I may have to host an event…

Jurassic World, Lego Americana Roadshow, Mall Lunch, Nap, late afternoon swim, just finished eating some chicken brats, watching the kids play badminton as I am preparing for work tomorrow.

Well, Noonan, you kind of expressed an interest in our picnic event next month, so if you don’t find an event closer to home, we might let you virtually attend our event… 😉

Next month is the state chili cookoff hosted here in Bonanza. July 24-25

Apparently our sons decided to be dads today, though Younger Son did send a HFD text. Since they were doing their own thing, Trekkin’ got itchy and we went caching in Chippewa Falls. We were too late to tour Leinies. [:(] We will have to go back sometime and plan better.

Given that this was pretty much an unplanned outing, we did okay, though!

It’s getting dark in the house here in East sandland. I know that after the 21st we start losing daylight but this is a bit sudden.
