looks like I have to travel 30-40 miles from home to pick up a cache with >=10 favorite points to get the silly souvenir

06/27/2015 at 9:06 pm #2040873Well, Labrat, you have till September 2 to do it. Maybe some 8s and 9s close to you will have more fav points by then.
We have one that we have never gotten around to doing that is less than 15 miles from us… but it involves rock climbing. 4.5 T, which is why we haven’t done it yet. Maybe we’ll just drive 30-40 miles instead… 🙄
06/27/2015 at 9:10 pm #2040874I wonder how things are going around Mr. GT’s campfire…
Smores sound good too.
06/27/2015 at 9:13 pm #2040875The closest 10 fav to me was disabled after I had the 2nd DNF on it, a multi with a missing stage. Got the next closest just a little farther away last week.
No events scheduled around here yet. I may need to take care of that again. The best sig is no sig.

We could make s’mores by putting the ingredients together and setting them outside. I had a six-pack of Coke break the seals on the caps in my car last week, before it really got hot.

06/27/2015 at 9:51 pm #2040877Saw a neat campfire S’more recipe. Stuff a waffle cone with miniature marshmallows and chocolate bits. Wrap in foil and hold over the fire. I could handle THAT FOTD!

We have done that a few times. We had difficulty with the cones charring a bit, but tasty nonetheless.
Sunday.

06/28/2015 at 8:20 am #204088060 miles to the nearest10 favorite for us. Not losing any sleep over it. We have a wedding in Duluth next month and I’m sure can find something there.

Rocky Bluffs Cache on Highway 82: GC25XAG
Wrong direction for you, so it’s still a ton of miles… but you could always do some caching in Sandland on your way there or back. 😉
06/28/2015 at 8:44 am #2040882I have not researched the summer souvenirs much, but I was wondering if someone waited and found a D5 puzzle with over ten favorites in late August if all three souvenirs would be awarded for that one find.
06/28/2015 at 9:57 am #2040883Oh, now there’s a question for the ages, SL!
No high school play for us. Someone left Pooh’s shoes on the chair by the door overnight and now they’re soaked from overnight rains. Got him a pass from church, too.
06/28/2015 at 11:01 am #2040884Smart kid!

06/28/2015 at 11:06 am #2040885Found a closer possibility for you, Labrat. Our “Tile Silo” ( GC416R3 ) has ten favorites, and it’s just south of town about six miles. And you could still have a fun-filled day caching in Sandland!
06/28/2015 at 11:06 am #2040886Wonder if Mister GT is back from camping yet…
