Forget ShopKo senior day.  Next Wednesday, Mean Mary is playing the Root Note in LaCrosse!  We’ll be there!  We’re even willing to deal with parking nightmare that is downtown for this.

Birdin’, did you ever see the movie A Birder’s Guide to Everything?  It is a group of teen birdwatchers and their search for a rare bird.  There are more serious undertones to some subplots, but the movie is entertaining and light, primarily.  It is a 2014 movie.  I happened upon it at the library.  In the bonus section, there is a very interesting tutorial on how birders use something (a spectrogram?) to visually write a bird’s call.

I’ve read a lot about that one, but haven’t yet seen it.  It’s on my list, though.  It was really well received in the birding world, especially with its emphasis on the next wave of birders.

After six days, we have a break..til tomorrow morning. Pooh’s Pal was excited to go home with dad, girl Taylor and his cat. With Trekkin’s back in bad shape, I’ve basically spent the past week as a single parent of a 5 year old.

Why does anyone my age want to become a parent? I need a week at a spa to recover!

Birdin … I know what you mean!  Had the 2 of them for 24 hours and was ready for them to go home.  Hubby has proposed taking them on a week’s vacation to Black Hills.  I may need a getaway after that but not to a spa.
