White Potato Lake in Oconto County for a week. Lots of caching planned. The Bear bait Trail and the Wisconsin 50 Star. Waterfall tour in Marinette County one of the days. Fishing every morning and evening.
07/10/2015 at 7:52 pm #2041207Have fun!
I did fairly well staying offline today, but now someone…not me…wants to go caching tomorrow, so I’m on to figure out where and what.
Anyway…..Pooh’s Pal makes up these elaborate games by laying out blocks with various props, patterns and rules known only to him (and to his advantage.) He’d made a haunted house game on the kitchen table with all kinds of rubber skulls and bugs and stuff. We get tired of that game. Apparently Trekkin’ was supposed to be playing it, but more interested in facebook on his computer next to the game. Finally Pooh says “Grandpa, you aren’t paying attention! We’re going to pretend there’s a geocache hidden in there and IT’S A FTF!”
Someone has been paying attention. *eye roll*

07/11/2015 at 10:09 am #2041218I think my neighbor needs to take a hunter’s safety class. I know I kid and call them terrorists, but I think small game is out of season. I don’t even want to mention firing a .22 in the city, in a 20 X 20 yard with no ability to see what’s beyond 30 feet. He was unaware I was sitting 15 feet away in my yard reading a book this a.m.. He was proud to show my his kill. He got one of the babies. I am slightly annoyed.

07/11/2015 at 12:48 pm #2041220Everyone around here shoots (us Excluded). The drought has brought an explosion of “squeaks”. Little ground squirrels and pack rats. They are always open season.

07/11/2015 at 2:54 pm #2041221Proving once and for all that I’m a mostly visual learner…..
I spent a good part of today trying to make buttonholes with my sewing machine. Kept bunching on the bottom, despite what I thought was strict adherence to the manual. Googled youtube for help and saw…THAT’S what they mean by “fully forward.” Took a whole five minutes to do the buttonholes once that got resolved. One unfinished object is now…finished. On to the next.

07/11/2015 at 3:56 pm #2041223I’m tired of frustration. We’ve had a good six years of chaos at this place…..kids and their families moving in, moving out, moving back in and finally out. Various household disasters, all of which have led to disruption in a place that used to be somewhat organized.
I want to work on my next unfinished object. A dress I cut out years ago, before I lost my sewing space to “invaders.” I can find the cut out pieces, the skirt that was barely started, the envelope for the pattern….but not the instruction sheet. This was a weird design, not something I can figure out with 40 years of sewing practice.
I’m going to just waste time online. Trying to do anything productive is just frustrating!
