Not the best day to live in Columbus. Hope to have power by tomorrow.

Not fun at all….looks like we have something moving in here again soon.

The ride to work this morning was interesting.  The rain wasn’t bad, the lightning wasn’t awful, but the wind sucked.

I hope everyone had a good “lunch”.  The younger pirate and I were going to come before the work situation changed. But, this week I will earn enough to pay for half of her braces.

The older one has theatre camp the next two weeks.

Everyone have their 5 star cache picked out.  I have to drive my mom-in-law to Madison Sunday, so I have one all planned.

Interesting end to the day… We were in the Wheelhouse having pizza buffet with Gram and Gramps, and their phones alerted them to a severe T-storm warning in Waupaca. We couldn’t tell anything, but the din in the crowded restaurant drowned out a lot… except for one peal of thunder. We all decided to head out (6:40), and we dashed through the start of the raindrops to our cars. It was really dark, and then it was really pouring and blowing. From listening to the radio station, we knew we would head out of it as soon as we reached Waushara County and could put in a good stretch south. Yep, that was the answer. Pretty dry by the time we hit Wild Rose. Still some dark clouds to the west, but we got home and got the car unloaded OK, and we are safe and sound in our non-summer home.

The event had perfect weather, and good attendance.

I had an interesting afternoon, too. I bought an annual park sticker this morning at the park. I didn’t stick it on the window because I wanted to scrape off the old one and use some Goo-Gone to get the sticky stuff off before I stuck the new one on. While I was parked in the horse trail parking lot I got a “Ticket” from the park ranger for a) Improper Sticker Placement,        b) Parking too close to the handicapped horse ramp, and c) Expired Vehicle Registration. I put ticket in ” ” because there was no fine associated . I just had to put the sticker on and then show up at the office to show them that I had done it. Other State Parks I have been to have told me that it was OK to wait to put the sticker on from Rib Mountain where the Ranger told me that I just needed to have it on by the next time I went to a state park, to Mirror Lake where I was told I had 24 hours to attach it. Oh, and my registration is not expired, I just forgot to put the sticker on.

Then on the way home I got a little careless with the gas petal and got pulled over by a Portage County Deputy for 70 in a 55. Of course he also commented on the registration, but when he checked it out he found that it was current. I told him that the sticker was sitting on my kitchen counter with the new insurance card that I just got a couple weeks ago. He actually laughed when I told him that I had found 4 expired insurance cards while he was writing the ticket. Oh, but the ticket was only $10 for not wearing a seat belt. Best result of a pull-over I have ever experienced.

Lots of thunder around here but no rain again. Either goes north or south.

The only interesting thing that happened on my way home was finding an ant colony inside the cache container.  I opened it, shrieked and threw it.  Nasty, moldy log that I didn’t sign.  Never got any rain yesterday here, but I have been in the Wheelhouse during a storm.   Wasn’t good for Sausage Fest or whatever they call it.

Drove down to Rapids to pick up a roll of paper for the Boy Scouts from TJS. His father passed away last night. I’m sure that prayers for the family would be appreciated.

Does everyone have a D5 or T5 cache picked out for the next souvenir?

News from Appleton…..family vacation last week in Saint Germain was awesome. Fishing, jet skis, pontoon boat, many games of Settlers and of course several nights at the ice cream shop. Great to have the family together. Granddaughter is practically walking….funny to watch…

It got chilly last evening….great night for a run after the humid day….down in Sun Prairie doing some caching during the day and it was hot. Temps dropped significantly….today is beautiful.

D/T 5 cache – will be doing one with the Hitwoman on July 22 to celebrate the 4-year anniversary of the day that Randall killed his mother.

Mr. LN is traveling (as he often does) – to Kittery, Maine. He flew into Boston and is driving up – which means we get to add two new states – New Hampshire and Maine – which will bring us to 46 – only four more to go…Alaska, Delaware, Vermont and Rhode Island….

Still placing students – any takers?

Yep.  GC39D5P I have to drive to Madison Sunday anyway.  I know it is a little cheap.

So….hip bursitis. That’s what’s been slicing through my leg at nights and making sleep an impossibility. Apparently it will eventually resolve itself. It’s an old person’s disease.

                        Sigh.

Like not spotting the FTP opportunity? 😉
