16 find day. 13 on Hogsback Mountain with some new, young (20s) cachers. Over 8 miles walking with over 1000’elevation change thrown into the mix. Being young and me being foolish, we cut corners and ruined socks with fox tails in the process. Placed a few too, got the location for a much needed earth cache that I need to research first.
The new guys have over 200 find son three months so I showed them how to hide caches. Shot coordinates at the first, I forgot to save them. The guy who was going to be the CO was always 50’ahead of me, and when we stopped for me to suck wind, he realized he didn’t save th either! He says he will climb back up tomorrow to refund it. He does the mountain climb up the steepest parts for fun. After all the up down and sideways today, he was going to try to find the 5/5 I placed. Failed twice, so I feel as if it isn’t too easy.
Then it was time for a very successful meet and greet which included a moving cache! Not one of Jacob’s though. My wife and I won a premade cache each too. Put faces with names for many COs and finders. About a half dozen new cachers too!
Found two new hides and them home to recover. One twisted ankle and bum knee but would do the climb again (but I can say that because we gutted the hill and left some scraps on the edges to find).
Monday is a trip for the kids to see doctors (just routine) but outside Salem so new area for caches!Attachments:

07/19/2015 at 10:55 am #2041430No paddling for me 🙁 It was postponed yesterday due to the threat of lightning later in the day, which never materialized, but no way to know that then. Late last night I got a message saying that the two big groups that were filling the voyageur canoe couldn’t do the rescheduled date. That left just two of us for such a big canoe that they had to cancel (just the voyageur, not the whole event). They should be passing my place soon. I will have to look out my window longingly, and hope things work out for next year.

07/19/2015 at 12:05 pm #2041432Happy National Ice Cream Day! I see a stop at the blue roof place in my future. For now though, I am at Mead Wildlife Area until 3:00.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.

:13:07/19/2015 at 1:30 pm #2041436I might have to stop at a blue roof on my way to puzzle of books. I am just leaving New Glarus Woods.
