I did not mind looking out the windshield at the moon last evening.
With Braun’s home run in the the first inning Friday night being the only scoring action by the Brewers, the rising moon provided our entertainment during the later part of the game. (I do not want to say just how many pics I took of the moon and the scoreboard… 🙄 )
08/02/2015 at 11:03 am #2041828The Brewer’s posted a similar picture on their fb page friday night. It was also really fun to see fireworks in Johnson Creek with the moon behind them. My wife said she was happy I left the camera home. Because, she knew I would have stopped to take a few pictures.

Did he give you the information that you sought?
Arrgh. No.
We are starting to smell the smoke inside the house now. Turned all AC off to keep it out as best we can.
The Ruby is really a Rufous. Got a good look at the male just now. Happily, the little dog just sits on top of the loveseat by that window and doesn’t bark at them. She barks at everything else.

08/02/2015 at 11:27 am #2041830When did Jacob’s Moving Caches become “Utah” Moving Caches? Sorry for bringing that up again.

08/02/2015 at 11:39 am #2041831Out your way, I’d expect a Rufous more than a Ruby. We just had a Ruby working the tiger lilies on the other side of the deck. Pooh’s Pal and I watched it. Went right by the feeder, but flowers taste better, I think.
08/02/2015 at 12:11 pm #2041832Just checked in on what kind of hummers to expect and Ruby doesn’t make the list at all. The female looked similar enough to click when I saw her. Judging from the breed descriptions it seems this is the only type I can expect to see. I sure like the way UWGB had the Wisconsin bird atlas. With the variety of biomes and elevations, I can see how it is hard to describe where birds are out here though.

08/02/2015 at 12:23 pm #2041833Little Jim bought his first brand-new car on Monday, 2015 Jeep Renegade. Yesterday he drove home from Rhinelander, parked in the garage, and went inside to change clothes. He backed out of the garage, shifted into drive, and the engine died and would not start again. Called roadside assistance, and they sent a wrecker to take it to the dealership. The service department closed at noon, so it will sit there until Monday morning.
Bummer!!! Am always hesitant to consider a new model until it’s been in production a few years and they’ve worked the kinks out.

08/02/2015 at 1:50 pm #2041834Found a neat looking Earthcache just 86 miles from here (according to GC). How long does it take to drive there?
3.25 hours, almost the entire route along highways. Welcome to Oregon, where no route is straight. 🙁

08/02/2015 at 2:20 pm #2041835That’s like southwestern Wisconsin, only higher.
08/02/2015 at 2:40 pm #2041836Cool! I want to go hunting Oregon sunstones!
08/02/2015 at 3:07 pm #2041839This isn’t an exhaustive list, but it’s getting there. Earthcaches in Oregon.
