Sometimes you think you are having a bad day. Then, a car 500 feet in front of you on the interstate explodes. The fire actually caused the tires to explode. Then you realize your day really isn’t too bad. Now, I am at the pool having a beer waiting for a little outdoor movie.

08/05/2015 at 7:56 pm #2041932Or you could have this problem where the Twin Bluffs caches are located (we haven’t done them yet):
Grand Marsh Scanner: Fire on the south side of the bluff, A and Schroeder Rd, New Lisbon.
Grand Marsh Scanner: Lots of flame visible from A. Difficult access.
Grand Marsh Scanner: Fire dept advising there is more fire on the bluff than they are going to be able to get out with pack cans. Contacting DNR to see if they can get a Blackhawk from Fort McCoy.
Grand Marsh Scanner: Carrying ropes to the top and going to pull 1 inch line up.
Grand Marsh Scanner: Paging mutual aid from Camp Douglas and Elroy.08/05/2015 at 8:36 pm #2041935Wow! Wonder what happened. If you go up there (we have, more than once) you can see it is a place where people like to hang out. Maybe even something as simple as a cigarette not stubbed out. Things are getting dry and it’s been windy. Hope no one is in harm’s way.

08/05/2015 at 9:50 pm #2041940Don’t get me started on fires! At least the closest one to is is ~90 miles away. Sure is smokey all day though!
Boy wasn’t feeling good. No trip to see old volcano today. Just before we decide that, I get a text, friend is going to LPPT power trail, leaving now. I decline.Later we run to town with daughter to exchange shoes. Decide to walk paved trail with 9 hides on it. Her new shoes tear into her heel so we quit after 2.
Hear from friend: 109 caches today. At least my two were with my family.

08/06/2015 at 8:57 am #2041943Hope you are able to make that trip today. Two caches with family sounds way more fun than 109. I have lost my taste for finds every few minutes, though Trekkin’ did have me load up a couple bike trails in case he gets bored this weekend. Supposed to be t-storms here later today, and it’s looking ominous even now. So probably another day of sitting around. I have a book and my iPad along.
08/06/2015 at 9:46 am #2041944HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAR42!

08/06/2015 at 12:48 pm #2041946Thanks, I had become used to having John Menard being the only one who remembered my birthday.
He gave me a flashlight this year.
08/06/2015 at 12:51 pm #2041947Scratch another day trip. Tomorrow is the first of many school meetings. 🙁
Here’s one that some of you may qualify for: GC4BXMP
