OK, this may be TMI, and I debated about sharing it, and you certainly won’t see it from me on the Book of Faces, but here is one of those “You know you’re a geocacher if…” stories.

Driving up to Minnesota on Monday, I experienced severe vomiting, so much so that we cut our trip short, and I spent the night in the hospital at Menomonie. Everything’s fine now, but I was puking quite a bit between Black River Falls and Eau Claire, stopping frequently alongside the road as the urge hit (every few miles). At one point during a respite in the dry heaves (which it was by then), I looked up to catch my breath, and there across the interstate fence and through the trees and bushes, I could see some headstones. Asked myself if there could be a cache in that cemetery, made a note of where we were then, checked it out after coming home. Yep, we will need to go find GC13H1Z now… 🙄

Glad you are feeling better Pat.  Food poisoning?  That is a pretty cemetery but one of those close as the crow flies but not as a car drives.

Not food poisoning, and not anything else they tested for or got a history on. No one else in the car got sick. Talking to my own doc next week.

That WSQ is one I had looked at before on trips, but you’re right… can’t really get “there” from “here”. Probably had my best chance the other day… if I had only felt up to hopping the fence! 😉

Not exactly like the wormhole on this site, but I went to the geocaching website and take me to the old search and postal code and typed in my zip code, 54952.  The caches that came up were in the Czech Republic.  Trying several other nearby zip codes gave me caches listed in my area.  I’ve always thought Menasha was a world apart.  I guess the web programmers agree!

Back home for a chunk of time and decided to catch up on what I’ve missed….  At least it’s nice to have internet in the house.  Maybe I need to rethink the idea of not having any internet or even telephone or cell phone connection up north at the cottage.  NAH.

T and B’s trek up to the Keweenaw  intrigued me.  I also have checked out a passel of those earthcaches and you’re correct about them being a continuing education class project.  I especially enjoyed “Bent Trees” and got back a really nice note from the individual who created it after I logged my find, but I think you’re correct that most of the individuals who create them may not follow them since.

I really hate being the de facto Athletic Director. Things are very different out here, so most of my coaching experience is not helpful at all. At least I’m not the principal too.

Found out today that I spent all of last year without test generator software on my computer, wrote all my own tests last year. Oh, and there were an entire set of pregenerated worksheets, quizzes and tests for another class I was inventing on the fly all of last year too.

I was watching PBS this evening and spotted a geocacher judging calves at the Green Lake county fair.

Did A home visit outside of town today and passed by the sunflowers.  They are all drooping. There was a very old woman getting out of a vehicle for a picture near them.

FTP for Friday. PBS must be airing reruns of “Around the Farm Table”, Jar42. Thanks for noticing!

Actually I wasn’t so much watching as I was doing a jigsaw puzzle when I heard a familiar voice and had to turn and see what kind of event was going on.
