Daughter heads to Ireland in a month.
Her school’s theatre group is going to Scotland next summer. A mean dad said, “I love you, but no.”.
09/10/2015 at 10:14 pm #2042751Yes, I have a trackball for my desktop at home and I bought one last year for my mac at school. With my carpal tunnel the trackball helps a lot.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.

09/11/2015 at 7:43 am #2042753Bartrod, just attach a TB tag to a smiley button and call it your personal trackable. Less money that way. Or have your geocoins made, then just give them to special people. No need to “send them out into the wild”.
The current quote is $400 on a minimum order of 50…not a bad deal but what am I going to do with 50 of them??? I’m told I don’t have that many friends:)
Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
09/11/2015 at 8:23 am #2042754You might be surprised how many new friends you can have when you have 50 geocoins in your pocket.

When your pants fall down from the weight of the coins!
09/11/2015 at 8:36 am #2042756MGT&S … you should love Galena, very pretty little city and lots of history. We are in Duluth today and headed for Delta tomorrow.
We’ll only have about 4-5 hours to spend in Galena as we pass through on the way to Vicki’s sister-in0laws house to spend Saturday night. It will give us enough time to check it out for a future longer visit. Hannibal is interesting, but more touristy than we had expected. Most attractions are in the $10-$20 range to see so we skipped them. There are really interesting cache locations here though.
09/11/2015 at 8:59 am #2042757We enjoyed Hannibal. We were just there for a day and overnight on our way to Arkansas. There was a park above the river on the north end of town with a lot of nice hiking trails, and that’s where we cached, along with the stuff in town related to Mark Twain. Galena has some really nice caches. They have a point and often take advantage of the rich history of the town. There are a lot of new ones there by the same hiders and we’d like to head back down the river some time.
Geocoins……we had 100 made. That was probably 7-8 years ago. We probably still have 60 of them. We have either given them to friends, traded for others’ coins or donated a few for door prizes. We are not into coins like we thought we might be. We’ll trade with you if you do get them made! 😉
This is the big village rummage sale weekend. We live on the corner, right as people come into town from I-90. Signs often end up on our boulevard as a result (and 9 times out of 10, we have to remove them). Today, we found a sign placed right in our yard, on the yard side of the sidewalk. Kind of gutsy.
09/11/2015 at 9:19 am #2042758We drove down to Madison after the grands left yesterday. I deliberately did not bring my camera, but I wish I had. There was a gorgeous sunset we enjoyed from the Union Terrace before the concert last night. The classic chairs are gone for renovation right now, though.
Bela and Abigail were in fine form last night. We were in about the fifth row. I could have taken some awesome photos, but why? I’ve decided messing with a camera detracts from being there and enjoying it. Full house. At one point, he asked those in the audience who played banjo to raise their hands. They counted 7 or 8 hands. You know whose hand was one of those. We drove home after the concert, got in around 1:15. We were kind of amazed that a couple old farts could still do that. Just one little crummy cup of coffee shared between the two of us. Saw a coyote, fox and one recently dead deer.

Our church has a give-a-way on Saturday and City ordinances won’t even allow us to put signs out on the terrace area between the sidewalk and road. They have to be on “our property” not “theirs”.

09/11/2015 at 10:43 am #2042760It’s the opposite here, unless the homeowner themselves place the sign within their yard. We have a couple signs there for Garland Days, which is this weekend, and the rummage sign was placed so it actually blocked those.
As I said…gutsy.

We liked the tour of the cave. Took it in 1965 and in 1972. Haven’t been back to Hannibal since.
09/11/2015 at 11:03 am #2042763No signs allowed on the city-owned boulevard between the sidewalk and the street. We’re not in a decent location for people to put up yard sale signs, but the ones we display for political candidates have always been placed on our side of the sidewalk.
09/11/2015 at 11:03 am #2042764I am going for the cheap FTP so that I can tie Mister GT before he gets back home from his travels.
