Hello from the Keweenaw!  We’re back up here, having done a fair amount of hiking and exploring old mine ruins already.  Event tomorrow.

80% chance of a pirate at the picnic.  If I leave at 2:00am, I will make the 8am check in :pirate:

Woo hoo!  We could use some pirates at the picnic!

Oh the woes of the short geocacher!

Check-in is at 8:30, BBG. You can sleep another half hour. 😉

Actually, there is no need to get there right at the start, even if you want to go out caching with someone, There will be chances to join caching groups at 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00, so take your time. Or just sign in whenever you get there, then start socializing and/or caching.

And that pirate emoji hasn’t worked since the new website… but we can visualize it.

                  Get wet & muddy J&L?

Good think about the Packers playing late tomorrow: time to cache or place without interfering with the game! Got yardwork done today, plus getting to work to make copies and work on results from last year’s state test. Looks like we had two more make the grade! One missed by one question. He’s kicking himself.

Squirrel vs. juvenile Coopers Hawk in the yard tonight.  This one goes to the squirrel.  After the initial attack, it recovered nicely and retaliated before making a hasty exit.  I think the terrorist spectator and Amy were a bit surprised and stunned by the action.

Give that Cooper’s Hawk a year’s experience and the results might be different!

We did something different today.  After caching in the morning a bit and then attending a caching event….we did not cache anymore.  Instead, we toured Fort Wilkins, then went down to Hunters Point, where we’d found a cache last night, and hiked all of the trails there along the harbor and Lake Superior.  There is also a sign under the Copper Harbor sign now that says “Home of Iggy Pop.”  Wikipedia says he’s from Muskegon.  Go figure.

Not wet and muddy, CTQ. Burdocks and sticktights. It wasn’t worth the effort to pick them clean, but finding that new cache will be!
