Someone’s not playing nice!
09/27/2015 at 5:42 pm #2043174Ten hours????? Ten hours, people???? That’s going to take a bigger bump than I have in my bag of tricks!
Amita, we’re still up north, getting home on Monday. I’ll share some falls pics then. Great turnout, IMO. Lots of fun. Lostcheq put a whole bunch of new caches in the park for everyone to go for. Some did them all yesterday, those who stayed over were doing more today. Lots of caching campers. Haven’t seen how last night’s campfire event went, but I know T&B were there, so she can chime in.
Had one hike kick our butts early on today, so we were dragging the rest of the time. Didn’t do the long hiking series we had planned, but we did drive around on a lot of back roads. Lots of hunters (bear and grouse) and ATVers out and about on this Packerless Sunday with beautiful fall weather.
Meeting Cheeze for supper again.
BC, in all of your cheap posting I never saw a mention of our nine-month co-birthday today. 😉

09/27/2015 at 6:07 pm #2043176We just got home a little while ago. The campfire was very nice, not too many of us there, but then again…not too many of us camping. As the evening wore on and the moon appeared, that fog was beginning to finally lift. We were out this morning with Wandering Tracks and biotreker and woody1. Hiked from the campground down to the Little Manitou Falls, then got the other caches down there and the few roadside ones on county B. Then, biotreker had the inspired idea that we needed to fill up after all our hiking and we all went to Kounty Quarthouse in South Range, featured on Diners, DriveIns and Dives. Wow, that was some amazing bar food! We sat at a table with a big poster of Guy looking down approvingly! While the attendance might not have been as big as it is in places like High Cliff or Gov Dodge, it was nice to see some folks who usually can’t make the long trek to those events for one reason or another. Well done, WGA!

I have no idea what is going on in Sandland since we are still in Hayward, where it was nice and sunny all day. We have been checking the eclipse off and on right now. Time to get off the motel computer and go check it again.
09/28/2015 at 12:05 am #2043180Caught the tail end of the eclipse with the kids. Almost forgot!
JV volleyball game at the same time as the Packers game tomorrow (today for you). At least it is only JV so it should be a short night and I can skip commercials as I watch the game. Got the app on my phone to keep tabs of things in real time too.
Sunny and warm today. No caching other than the realization I never logged a cache back in Hudson, so that messed up my milestone cache list. Good thing I never really hit a milestone find with a cache that was something I had reserved just for that spot.
The best sig is no sig.
09/28/2015 at 8:20 am #2043181I thought the picnic had pretty good attendance. Right at 80 people and fog and great caches. Many people from the SE came for the weekend, some from the SW and there were those of us from the NE that had a great time. Great park and lots to see up there. We visited 7 state parks and 2 of those were revisits.
Following the signals from space.
09/28/2015 at 9:18 am #2043182I think there might have been a CITO event across the border not too far away, or we might have had more MN folks, too. It was nice to see those UNGA folks at the event and I think they enjoyed having it close to home. That is just a beautiful park, and it was fun to visit this season, instead of the height of summer or early winter like our two prior visits.
09/28/2015 at 9:45 am #2043183Dang! Of the Wisconsin Weirdness on our challenge list, there are only a couple we haven’t visited ourselves. One is JFK Twineman. I just realized we weren’t all that far from it heading home from Pattison yesterday. Another trip.
09/28/2015 at 10:24 am #2043184Shouldn’t miss the Twineman, maybe he will give you some of his handwritten cards. Interesting place and person.
09/28/2015 at 2:03 pm #2043185JFK Twineman… havin’ a ball, havin’ a ball.
09/28/2015 at 2:05 pm #2043186WE got home about half an hour ago and have unpacked. Left in rain this morning, so we didn’t stop for some side trips we had planned. Sunny and hot now in Sandland, but the radar shows the rain catching up with us later today.
Good to be back.
