      Think I may go to the State Cross Country meet tomorrow. Auburndale girls team is running. I gave them some advice this morning; “Run faster than the other girls.” 🙂

          Looks like Division Three Girls is first up right at noon. Mauston has both the girls’ and the boys’ teams running in Division Two, and their top boy is pretty good. My brother-in-law is their coach. My niece was one of the coaches the past few years, too, but over the summer she and her husband decamped to friendlier teaching grounds in Minnesota. 😕 🙁 (This would be Mason’s mom and dad.)

            If all works out, our other son will soon be a homeowner, too.  And we won’t have them moving back in and out.  Revolving door no more!   (though of course they are always welcome guests).

              My furnace didn’t come on this morning. I went down in the basement and tapped on the control and it fired right up and I forgot about it. This afternoon it started to get a little chilly in the house and I realized that the furnace wasn’t on again. Well tapping on the gas control would work now but what about 2 in the morning.

              Time for some furnace repair. I pulled and cleaned  the pilot and that would have worked but I decided maybe I should replace the whole assembly. Went to town, found a pilot assembly but it was the last of its kind, right at the bottom of the box.

              The old boiler is almost 50 years old but in great shape. The problem is going to be finding parts in the future. The old pilot assembly lasted over 20 years so the new one should do the same.

              And if all else fails tap on the control.

                  I thought you should all know…instead of solving puzzles today, I smashed my thumb in my car door.  I will spare everyone photos, but suffice it to say…..pretty much the whole nail is currently a dark shade of blue.  It will fall off at some point, I’m sure.

                      We might get out of here and on the road to Hoopla yet.

                      And….our other son is now a homeowner, too. Hopes to move out of here next weekend. Not sure who’s happier about this. 😉
